I now wish to enable postgresql server instrumentation and my research indicates that I need to install postgres-contrib (done) and then run the admin81.sql script. CentOS-5.4 i86_64 I have a calculator applet on my desktop (superbcalc.jar). When I double click on it I get no response. If I right click and select open with java I get no response. I have discovered that the default init script distributed with pgsql v8.1 sets the listening port to 5432 but does not enable tcp/ip connections. One must add the -i switch to the invocation line in the script.
