rpm dependencies
I have successfully created a packaged version of openssh that has the LPK patch. LPK allows you to store your public keys in LDAP. However when I go to install the package I created it complains about dependencies: [root at VIRTCENT13:/home/bluethundr/rpm]#rpm -Uvh openssh-5.6p1-1.i386.rpm error: Failed dependencies: openssh = 5.5p1-1.el5 is needed by (installed)

file serving error
hello again list!! I am attempting to work out how to serve files with puppet. Here is my fileserver.conf file # This file consists of arbitrarily named sections/modules # defining where files are served from and to whom # Define a section ''files'' # Adapt the allow/deny settings to your needs. Order # for allow/deny does not matter, allow always takes precedence # over

OpenLDAP Problem
Everyone, We currently are running a Centos3 directory server, I am currently testing centos4 as an upgrade of this machine in the future. There is a special user we have called cn=samba,ou=special in our directory, this user is for samba to use when binding to the directory. On the production replica server, i have taken an offline slapcat ldif of the entire tree. I then copied this file to

Possible to have Email-Adresses as logins?
Hi, we want to set up a samba-server with an ldap-backend (so far no problem, got this running already) but want the users to login to workstations using their email-address instead of a "normal" login-name. I already figured out that i cannot add unix users with an "@" in their login neither via "useradd" nor via "smbldap-useradd", so i was thinking about

Samba and LDAP
Hi! I'm trying to install an ejabberd server on my network. Ejabberd supports LDAP - but when I tried to get it to work, it opened a whole can of worms. Basically where I'm at now, if I use ldapseaerch to try and search for, say, a username - I get NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE - so my question is, does samba have an ldap server build in, or do I need OpenLDAP?

LDAP Server Access Problem
Hi All, I am at my wits end. I have a LDAP server setup on a machine (the names are changed to protect the innocent) example.mydomain.com running CentOS 5.4 and LDAP version 2.3.43-3. If I issue a ldapsearch command while logged onto the LDAP server host I get a valid response back. For example: > ldapsearch -x -LLL -H ldaps://example.mydomain.com:636 "(uid=joker)" \ > sn uid dn:

Dovecot can't connect to openldap over starttls
I've replicate the settings from ldapsearch to dovecot but no success. To the certificate: Yes it's a *.crt file but I have linked the *.pem file to it and dovecot has read access to that file. I have enabled the debugging in dovecot and have uploaded the output: https://gwarband.de/openldap/dovecot-connect.log And the other site with ldapsearch:

Dovecot can't connect to openldap over starttls
I've tested your soulution, but it also says the same error. I've tested all combinations of: - tls_ca_cert_file = <cert> - tls = yes - tls_require_cert = demand Every time it says "Connection error". Only when tls is uncommented it says "TLS required". smbldap-showuser and ldapsearch can't show groups user belongs to.
Quick-n-easy questions: Let's say user raub is added to group nosy using smbldap-groupmod smbldap-groupmod -m raub nosy Now, according to ol' ldapsearch, ldapsearch -vvv -H "ldaps://ldap.example.com" -D "uid=admin,ou=People,dc=example,dc=com" -W -b "dc=example,dc=com" -s sub "(cn-nosy)" group nosy has a dn attribute that looks like this dn:

The serverlog of openldap with loglevel "any": https://gwarband.de/openldap/openldap-connect.log Note: openldap waits 1 Minute before he says "TLS negotiation failure" after the connect. and dovecot says direct "Connect error" I've also delete the TLSCipherSuite from openldap. negative ldap filter on AD
Hi all, Samba 4.1 as AD/DC local postfix & dovecot hooked to AD via ldap queries (special user created in AD for that purpose). Everything works as expected, but : I'd like inactive users in AD not to be able to read/send emails (understandable I think). User status seems (sorry I'm AD newbie) to be controlled by the 'userAccountControl' field in AD. Created 2 test users

LDAP Authentication to Lotus Domino?
Has anybody done any authentication to Lotus Domino using LDAP? I selected LDAP options in the "authconfig-tui" application, per the documentation here: http://www.centos.org/docs/5/html/Deployment_Guide-en-US/s1-ldap-pam.html when I try to query the directory for user information though, I get no results using the ldapsearch command [root at ldapclient ~]# ldapsearch -x
