Centos6.4 routing problem
dear All,
I'm facing this routing problem, the setup is actualy part of ltsp, but
I think this problem is Centos-specific.
The server is a Dell Poweredge R210. The install is standard 6.4, updated.
I have one nic facing the public internet:
vi /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-em1
DEVICE=em1

linux ip forwarding problem
Hi,
I have three linux machines, and I want to let one of them forward packets
betwen the other two. The forwarding node has two ethernet cards,
connecting the two two machines respectively. However, when I ping between
the two end points, the forwarding node can receive the ping requests at
its eth0, but it never forwards them to its eth1. So is the reverse
direction.
The forwarding node is

I am trying to forward packages on an internal device using iptables:

Performance tuning questions for mail server
Hi,
I have a fedora15 x86_64 host with one fedora15 guest running
amavis+spamassassin+postfix and performance is horrible. The host is a
quad-core E13240 with 16GB and 3 1TB Seagate ST31000524NS and all
partitions are ext4. I've allocated 4 processors and 8GB of RAM to
this guest. I really hoped someone could help me identify areas in
which performance can be improved at both the guest and

Setting Up LVS to Load Balance DNS
Greetings, all:
OS: CentOS 6.4 x86_64
Kernel: 2.6.32-358.14.1
I could use some assistance with setting up pulse to load balance my dns
servers. I've configured tcp and udp port 53 with the piranha gui, set up
arptable rules on the real servers and added the virtual ip to the bond0
interface on the real servers, but I'm still having no luck in getting
things going. A dig against the

windows guest network kept down automatically when several windows guest running in one KVM host,
Hi all:
I have some kvm host(rhel 6.4, 2.6.32-358.0.1.el6.x86_64), I ran several windows guest on it(more than 10 guest on one host and the guest os are win7-32/win7-64/win2k8), but the guest network kept down automatically, lost package. I tried virtio drive and e1000 drive, but it didn't work. However, when I run cmd.exe ping some other subnet ip it worked.
The host and guest are connected by

Ingress policing (matching netfilter marks)
Hi,
I''m having issues with policing my incoming traffic by matching packet marks
made by iptables. I''ve checked as many sites and guides as I can find, and I
seem to be doing the exact same thing as they all are, but there''s still no
success. As such, I was wondering if anyone can have a quick look to see if
I''ve done anything obviously stupid?
Essentially, I

Route traffic through private IP for only certain hosts
Hi
I am having a weird problem which I cant figure out - so I was hoping
someone here could give me a hand.
First off the end goal is that a specific server in my network runs an
IPSEC connection to another company and I want all other servers to route
traffic for the IP on that network through this single server.
Server 1 in this example is the server that runs the IPSEC connection.

TEQL and Subnet problem
TEQL and Subnet problem
I have a network topology shown below, and I am trying to use TEQL. My
problem is: When I ping to P3.teql0 from P2 ("[P2]# ping 16.119.144.66"),
the traffic can never go from P2.eth1, and all traffic only goes to
P1.eth0. What P2.eth1 (16.119.144.33) did is broadcasting an ARP asking
for the MAC address of 16.119.144.66, although I have specified the route

Bridging problem with Shorewall and OpenVpn

I am trying to implement OpenVPN on Fedora core Linux 3 with the latest
pathces

server, with kernel 2.6.1-1.27.FC3 and kernel 2.6.1-1.27.FC3 SMP
It has two NIC''s eth0 (10.0.0.150) connected to ADSL, eth1 (192.168.3.12)
connected to the local network.
I use shorewall 2.4 on this machine.

[Bridge] Strange DHCP behaviour with bridging
Here is the scenario: I have one server with kernel 2.4.24 with a bridge br0
made of 2 interfaces, eth0 and tap0 (the last is an OpenVPN tunnel), and one
remote computer connetting through tap0. If I assign a static IP to the
remote computer, the bridge works perfecly (so I think the problem is not
OpenVPN-related). If I start a DHCPd on the server and I configure the remote
client to get the

CentOS 6.3 as Firewall/Router
I'm replacing an ancient Solaris 'ipf' firewall/router with a brand new
CentOS 6.3 system. In the olden days, I successfully used the attached
iptables script (as /etc/rc.local) on Red Hat 5.x systems, but this
doesn't seem to be quite working on the new system.
Specifically, while it seems to be routing ok, you cannot connect to
anything on the inside net (e.g., with ssh or
