How to set selinux policy "allow httpd_t unconfined_t:shm { unix_read unix_write }; " using an seboolean? (How to get a new seboolean?)
Hi. I'm trying to get OTRS running on CentOS 5.5 with SELinux enabled, and audit.log / audit2allow tell me I need to add the local policy: #============= httpd_t ============== allow httpd_t unconfined_t:shm { unix_read unix_write }; which I think will allow the httpd access to read and write from shared memory? Is that right? What are the risks involved in opening this? I notice it is

SELinux Samba Exception on EL6
We are planning to migrate to EL6 and came across this issue that I am trying to get around. Current system spec: Samba-3.5.10 Selinux-policy-3.7.19 Policycoreutils-2.0.83 Autofs-5.0.5 In EL5 we disabled selinux for samba using 'smbd_disable_trans' directive and the shares work fine. On RHEL6 I couldn't find this Boolean. Is there an alternate directive that accomplishes

SElinux and Samba
Ok, so there is not a problem with SElinux and Samba. But it is a pain to set up so it will work right. I finally figured out how to set up SE and Samba so you can be able to write and delete files. I found in one of that man pages "man samba_selinux", you can just disable SE for samba. I am sure there are other ways also but this is what I have found so far. I tried to just

howto mount a scsi tape drive?
Hi, after installing centos 4.2 I've noticed that my internal Seagate scsi DAT 72GB tape drive hasn't been recognised in /media or doesn't show up in gnome when putting in a tape. Do I need to edit fstab first or load additional modules in the kernel during startup? regards, Geert -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

e1000 nic problem
Hi, I've been experiencing occassional network time-outs with the Intel Gigabit nic's (e1000) in Poweredge systems. I'm not sure if it's a hard or software problem but it occurs on different systems with Centos 4.2 and 4.3 and was wondering if there' s a workaround available like compiling an updated e1000 module or something. kind regards, Geert -------------- next part

Problem with oracle&httpd...
Hi, I have CentOS 4.2 installed on my PC and I've successfully installed Oracle 10g along with apache web server(httpd) and perl-DBD-Oracle. The problem is trying to connect to oracle to oracle from a CGI script. I defined all of the environment variables(ORACLE_HOME, LD_LIBRARY_PATH, PERL5LIB) in httpd.conf as well as apachectl scripts but I am getting the following error in the

megaraid problem
Hi, I'm trying to install Centos 4.3 x86 on a PE 1400SC but the install doesn't find any HD's. So then I get the option to load a module, so I choose for the megaraid_mbox module for the LSI LOGIC 4CH PERC but my RAID5 still doesn't get recognised. Had the same problem 2 years ago with FC3 wich was due to the megaraid module wich got obsolete in the 2.6 kernel but somebody filed

Tape backup question.
Hello, I want to backup my PE2800 on tape but I'm not sure how to do this. My PE2800 has a RAID5 setup with 2 72GB SCSI disks and a Seagate DAT-2 72GB internal tape-streamer and I'm running Centos 4.3 with the latest yum updates. I'm not sure if this tape-streamer is recognised by the OS properly because it doesn't show up along with my DVD/floppy I also recieved with the

SELinux issue
Hey all... not exactly an SELinux veteran, but am trying to work through some issues. Specifically, setting up a simple Samba configuration on a CentOS 5 machine. Determined I needed to do setsebool -P samba_enable_home_dirs 1 In order to get access to home directory shares working correctly. Fine; this is documented in samba_selinux(8). However, I still see the following in my

X broken after up2date
Hello, I've installed Centos 4.2 X86_64 on a PE2800 box with a Radeon 700 card and a generic Dell monitor. After running up2date before putting this box in production and make a reboot I can't get into X anymore, my monitor shows a message "out of sync" and that's it. So I tried logging in via ssh to run 'setup' and to use the X setup program, but it doesn't

centos roadmap?
Hi, I was looking for the roadmap for Centos 4.x. Is the release schedule somewhere on centos.org end if not, when can we expect the release of Centos 4.3? Somebody on irc in #centos told me it's a matter of weeks but it would be nice to get a more official confirmatiion so I can plan the rollout of Centos in my serverpark. regards, Geert -------------- next part -------------- An HTML

images gone after yum update
Hi, yesterday I upgraded a centos 4.6 box via yum and now it seems that certain pages, especially swf files stopped working. Does anyone know if ImageMagick got broken on x64? I don't see any other package wich could have caused this problem. kind regards, Geert PS Below is the output of my yum update May 05 13:20:25 Updated: cups-libs.x86_64 1:1.1.22-0.rc1.9.20.2.el4_6.6 May 05

Server Assistant from Dell?
Hello, I'm planning to install centos 4.2 x86_64 on a Poweredge 2800. This system comes with a EFI utility partition and has software called Server Assistant wich helps you to install your OS so that things like RAID and such can get monitored in an 'indepent' way afterwards through this EFI partition. When booting into the Server Assistant (the software is on a linux liveCD btw) I

Problems with CentOS 7 and X w/ nvidia
Ok, here's a bit more on the issues: I see in Xorg.0.log that it appears to have loaded the NVidia drivers I built from proprietary. But, and this may, or may not be significant, the user's home directory is, of course, NFS mounted. And his old machine that dies was running CentOS 5. Is it possible that some of the gnome settings are breaking things with CentOS 7's default gnome? If
