CentOS-7 amavisd
Is anyone running amavisd and clamd under CentOS-7?
Amavisd-new seems difficult to install,
and clamd is difficult to find.
(I've only added the epel repository,
as I had a conflict when I added rpmforge as well.)
I take it amavis is still the recommended way to run postfix?

Dovecot 2.1.0 packages for CentOS 6 / RHEL6
Hi,
First, Timo, Thank you for Dovecot 2.1.0.
I've built Dovecot 2.1.0 RPMs including Dovecot-Pigeonhole 0.3.0 for
RHEL6, CentOS 6 and Scientific Linux 6.
If anyone is interested in testing these RPMs:
http://oss.imt-systems.com/mstevens/el6/dovecot/2.1.0/
Feedback would be appreciated.
After some testing, we will use these RPMs on our IMAP servers.
Best regards,

rpm
Hi folks
I'm trying to install amavisd-new on Centos 5.3. There is a lot of
failed dependencies errors when I try to install it. My question is,
there is a way to automatically get all the rpm dependencies I need
and get them saved somewhere in my hard drive for future
installations? I'm behind a squid proxy.
Thanks in advance.

mail server best practices question
Hello all,
About a year ago I set up a mail server on CentOS using this howto:
http://wanderingbarque.com/howtos/mailserver/mailserver.html
I managed to add amavisd-new with clamav and spamassassin.
It runs very well, but it runs on CentOS 5.2, and if I try to upgrade,
amavisd-new and clamav break.
we are now also at the point where a backup mx will need to be implemented.
If necessary I am

How to add ClamAV to Postfix?
I sent this email to the Rehdat list, but I thought the Centos users
might be more inclined to have the command-line solution I am looking
for, so I thought I would post it here too:
I would like to add anti-virus to my email server. Currently I have
Postfix, Dovecot, PHP, and Squirrelmail installed. The users only use
Squirrelmail to access mail. I am looking for command-line
instructions,

Spamassassin for Centos 6.3
In http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Amavisd
there is a recommendation to NOT use the version that comes with Centos
6.3, but to get the more current version from RPMForge.
Is this the 'correct' thing to do on a Centos-based mail server?

CentOS 6, Postfix Dovecot
I only have one Postfix server running at the moment and have some
questions. On that install, I did Amavisd-new with ClamAV, SpamAssassin,
Postfix and Dovecot.
I know this is a bit off topic, but I'm really hoping for performance
guidance.
Is the added layer of complexity running Amavis worth the effort on a
system with moderate mail flow? Or should I just go down the path of
getting

amavisd-new, spamassassin and clamav
Hi List,
I've been working on documenting an amavisd-new, spamassassin and clamav
installation for postfix on CentOS5 with regards to writing this up for
the Wiki (with invaluable help from forum member WhatsHisName - thanks!).
I hope to make a start on a Wiki page in the next week or so, so if
anyone has any experience with this combo and would like to offer
advice, tips and

Postfix (Roundcube client) sends mail, but not able to receive
Dear All
Recently I just setup postfix, dovecot, roundcube etc in a dedicated server.
>From roundcuble, I am able to send mail to my gmail account.
But from my gmail account, when sent mail to my mail id, that I setup
recently, I do not see that email in roundcuble inbox. Neither that mail
bounced back in gmail. Not sure, how do I debug this.
Kindly let me know how should I proceed to fix

Amavisd and ClamAV
Hi,
I want to move my mail server from sendmail to postfix over christmas. I've
got a test server running with the following:
postfix dovecot postgrey amavisd-new clamav spamassassin
I've followed the howto's on the wiki <http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos> with the
exception that I installed amavisd-new and clamav from the EPEL repo rather
than rpmforge.
Things work OK with

More on amavis/clam permission errors on Centos 6.3
I should probably find either the amavis or clam list(s) and take this
there?
Anyway, I have totally rebuilt my machine with clean installs. I have
spent time carefully (I hope!) studying the amavis and clamav conf files
before starting them and running the tests. Here is what I am getting:

dag repo and perl dependencies naming
Hi
I'm trying to install amavisd-new from dag repo on centos3.
In the spec file perl dependencies use parenthesis: perl(Digest::MD5)
it also uses '-': perl-MailTools
The problem is that only the second notation is available: perl-MD5
I know this is an old problem. Is this only centos related?
Is there a workaround?
Do I have to modify the spec file? I'd like to use yum...

CentOS/RHEL versioning scheme?
I am a bit puzzled at the versioning scheme of the RedHat clone family.
RedHat seems to use integer 4, Tao and Centos does the same. If you do
rpm -q --qf '%{version}\n' -f /etc/redhat-release
you get '4'.
However, Scientific Linux uses 4.0, and that seems to me to be a more
logical choise, since presumable there are going to be versions 4.1,
4.2, etc.
Is there any good

Postfix Question - CentOS 6
I'm trying to figure out if this is a bug...
I'm running Postfix with Dovecot Authentication and have Amavisd-new as
the front end. I fought with the install and in particular being able to
send mail.... Auth failed. Hours of looking through all the config files
yielded nothing... so I started Googling about. I finally found a
comment at the bottom of a blog to check permissions on:
