Bonding problem in CENTOS4
I use bonding under CENTOS4.5 x32_62.
I have these weird messages when I'm restarting network.
Do you have any ideas how to fix this?
(there is similar bug for centos5 http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=2404, but the author says that it worked for him in centos4...)
Thanks

kernel: bnx2i: iSCSI not supported, dev=ethX
Running CentOS 5.5 x86_64 on Dell R710 boxes. I have the server(s)
configured for bonding/vlan and will be using iscsi to a SAN. I am in
the pre-deployment stage so I am just setting up the basic cookie cutter
configurations so I haven't initiated the iscsi connection to a SAN yet.
While going through the error messages I noticed this error:
kernel: bnx2i: iSCSI not supported, dev=ethX.

Bond Issues
I have a machine I just deployed w/ tg3 interfaces, I have setup bonding
on this same line of server (HP DL380 G4) a million times. I saw there were
changes recently to how you configure a bond and have my setup configured
according to: http://kbase.redhat.com/faq/docs/DOC-7431
The HP switch has a LACP trunk defined on the two ports. Problem is, when
rebooting, I need to issue a `service network

CentOS 5.7 Ethernet bonding - order of enslavement matters?
Setting up bonding in active-backup mode 1 (using ARP monitoring)
on a server, it looked OK, but pulling the active link cable
didn't actually work, it didn't fail over.
Eventually with manual playing around with modprobe, ifconfig,
ifenslave, etc., a solution was stumbled upon: enslave the eth1
device before eth0, and all is good.
Why this should matter is a puzzle - I could not find

bonding tap devices
Hello list,
Please don''t shoot me. I know I''m doing something with bonding that
bonding wasn''t made for. I just want to give it a try. I want a simple
mechanism to have a failover on a 24Mbit line to a 2Mbit line in case
the 24Mbit line goes down.
Between A and B there are two lines: a 24Mbit and a 2Mbit. I use two
OpenVPN tunnels with tap devices:

bonding problem with arp-monitoring
Hello
I have two linux machines connected via 2 dsl lines (bonded)
192.168.0.1-eth0-dsl---2Mbit---dsl-eth0-192.168.0.2
^-eth1-dsl---2Mbit---dsl-eth1-^
so the final figure is something like this:
192.168.0.1-bond0---4Mbit---bond0-192.168.0.2
I can only use arp monitoring for fail checking - if one dsl line fails -
automatically use only the other one. I set up everything correctly (i

True bond howto for Centos 6
Hi all,
Read many posts on the subject.
Using 802.3ad.
Few problems;
Cannot ping some hosts on the network, they are all up.
Cannot resolve via DNS which is one of the hosts that I cannot ping, internal nor external DNS hosts.
Unplugging the NICS and plugging them back in will then not allow pining if the default d=gateway.
When cold booting it somewhat works, some hosts are pingable while

Compiling Broadcom netxtreme2-7.6.62 drivers Xen4CentOS
Having problems compiling Broadcom netxtreme2-7.6.62 drivers using the Xen4CentOS (http://wiki.centos.org/QaWiki/Xen4) kernel:
CentOS release 6.4 (Final)
3.4.61-9.el6.centos.alt.x86_64
I had to modify the Makefile's a little to get to pass the validation since it was referring to kernel 3.0 and 3.5 but not 3.4. But after doing this I still had the following problem:
# make
make -C bnx2/src

iSCSI offload with Broadcom NetXtreme II BCM5709.
Hello all.
We recently purchased HP Proliant DL380 G7 server and also a HP Lefthand
P4500 G2 24TB iSCSI box.
The server itself has Quad Ethernet based on the BCM5709 Chipset from
Broadcom (NetXtreme II).
My main question is about iSCSI offload mechanism, as iSCSI itself is
pretty new to me
but I have gotten a good hold on it tho.
I have managed to setup and configured our Lefthand box into

Latest 6.2 kernel is broken
I just kickstarted a new machine with the latest CentOS 6.2 files, including

networkinterface type proposal
Hi - I''ve searched around and haven''t found anyone who''s implemented a type+provider for configuring network interfaces in puppet. Does anyone have such a thing already running that''s just not on forge / github? I found some prior art (aside from the old ''interface'' type which was deleted in 0.24) but most people seem to use definitions +

6.3 missing updates and packages
Hi,
The fact that apparently the last tigervnc update from upstream was
missed triggered me to check for missing updates and packages in 6.3.
Here are my results. Sorry for any false positives that might have crept
in, but note that some of the 6_x updates actually are updates and not a
parsing error. And perhaps an occasional false positive due to having to
compare upstream SRPMS vs downstream

KVM virtio bonding bandwidth problem
(first post)
Dear all,
I have been wrestling with this issue for the past few days ; googling
around doesn't seem to yield anything useful, hence this cry for help.
Setup :
- I am running several RHEL5.4 KVM virtio guest instances on a Dell PE
R805 RHEL5.4 host. Host and guests are fully updated ; I am using iperf
to test available bandwidth from 3 different locations (clients) in the
