CentOS5 with Dell Broadcom iSCSI Offload, does it work ?
Hi all,
After finding multiples answers to this question via google, but without
making it work on my servers. Has anybody iSCSI Offload working on a Dell
Server with Broadcom NICs ?
My environment: I'm running CentOS 5.6 CR, on a Dell PowerEdge R710 with
Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme II BCM5709 conecting to an EMC CX4-120 SAN,

iSCSI offload with Broadcom NetXtreme II BCM5709.
Hello all.
We recently purchased HP Proliant DL380 G7 server and also a HP Lefthand
P4500 G2 24TB iSCSI box.
The server itself has Quad Ethernet based on the BCM5709 Chipset from
Broadcom (NetXtreme II).
My main question is about iSCSI offload mechanism, as iSCSI itself is
pretty new to me
but I have gotten a good hold on it tho.
I have managed to setup and configured our Lefthand box into

6.3 missing updates and packages
Hi,
The fact that apparently the last tigervnc update from upstream was
missed triggered me to check for missing updates and packages in 6.3.
Here are my results. Sorry for any false positives that might have crept
in, but note that some of the 6_x updates actually are updates and not a
parsing error. And perhaps an occasional false positive due to having to
compare upstream SRPMS vs downstream

Xen C6 kernel 4.9.13 and testing 4.9.15 only reboots.
The mystery gets more interesting... I now have a CentOS 7.3 Dell R710
server doing the exact same thing of rebooting immediately after the Xen
kernel load. Just to note this is a second system and not just the first
system with an update. I hope I'm not introducing something odd. They only
"interesting" thing I have done for historical reasons is to change the

UEFI PXE / split config / TFTP attempted to DHCP server, not TFTP server
All,
I realize this is not strictly a PXELINUX question. So I hope you'll
indulge me; hopefully some of these PXELINUX experts have seen this before.
And can tell me what I'm doing wrong. Or confirm my suspicions.
I have a test lab server at work. Split config. The network team manages
the DHCP servers, points to our TFTP server.
Test subnet has 3 DHCP pools. BIOS PXE, UEFI PXE and

Latest 6.2 kernel is broken
I just kickstarted a new machine with the latest CentOS 6.2 files, including
kernel 2.6.32-220.13.1.el6.x86_64. It came up without network interfaces.
dmesg says:

Any recommendations on Perc H700 controller on Dell Rx10 ?
Hi folks:
At work, I have an R510, and R610 and an R710 - all with the H700 PERC
controller.
Based on experiments, it seems like there is no way to bypass the PERC
controller - it seems like one can only access the individual disks if
they are set up in RAID0 each.
This brings me to ask some questions:
a. Is it fine (in terms of an intelligent controller coming in the way
of ZFS) to have the

Xen C6 kernel 4.9.13 and testing 4.9.15 only reboots.
As a follow up I was able to test fresh install on Dell R710 and a Dell
R620 with success on CentOS 7.3 without issue on the new kernel. My new
plan will be to just move this C6 to one of the C7 I just created.

Simple config question
Most of my machines are pretty cookie-cutter, so I have one class and
config file setup for different services. For example, pretty much
have one hosts.allow that goes out everywhere. However, there are
always exceptions. So I have 3 hosts that have similar configs but
have more things open, so what''s the ''best practice'' way to centralize
those? Do I really need to
