procmail 3.22 on CentOS 5.2

It seems that LOGABSTRACT does not work : I don't get the datas LOGABSTRACT should prompt in the log, whether I don't set LOGABSTRACT (default behaviour) or if I set it to "on",

Unable to mount devices in rescue mode
Booting to CentOS 5.5 works and I am able to login with all my devices mounted. When I boot from the install DVD and type "linux rescue" I eventually get the message, after attempting to have one of the screens mount my partitions in read/write mode: "An error occurred trying to mount some or all of your system. Some of it may be mounted under /mnt/sysimage." But nothing

CentOS 5.4 Upgrade installation failure
CentOS 5.3 has been running fairly good except for a slow ethernet connection so I thought I would upgrade to CentOS 5.4 to see if that improved things. I had previously changed fstab and menu.lst to use UUID instead of LABEL in order to insulate myself from partition label changes I wanted to make. This worked fine in CentOS 5.3. When I attempted to upgrade from 5.3 to 5.4 using the

getent acting unreliable with idmap_ad
I'm trying to get my linux boxes to authenticate to AD using winbind. I need to get my uid's from AD so I'm using idmap_ad. I got to the point where 'getent passwd' shows me the list of unix users from AD with all correct details, however when I do 'getent passwd <username>' for any username from the list returned by 'getent passwd' I get an empty reply

potsfix keeping mail in queue on delivery error
Hello, Our mail server is running CentOS 5.3. I configured postfix with maildrop as the MDA. I had to deal with a strange issue : a user sent an email to an alias, which resolves into several internal addresses. One of these addresses had its mbox filled up (reached the mailbox_size_limit); so maildrop reported a 0x19 error code to postfix, who kept the mail in its queue, and repeatedly resent

Deleting packages
When choosing to delete packages, Synaptic will tell the user what other packages are dependant and therefore have to be added to the delete list also, and then will automatically add those dependant packages to the delete list if one chooses to go ahead with the original package deletion. I did not notice such functionality in YumEx. Does it exist ? If it does not exist, is it possible to

Boot message about "resume device"
When I boot CentOS 5.5, I receive the message: Unable to access resume device ( UUID = some UUID etc. ) How do I find out what actual device to which this UUID refers ? It does not appear to be a block device since it does not show when I try 'blkid'. To what does "resume device" refer ? The boot succeeds but I would like to know what this messages means.

My server won't boot (grub looping - stage2)
Hi, This morning one of my servers (centos 4.5) refused to boot. The console shows a lopp message grub loading stage2... I've been able to boot from the install CD choosing the rescue option. I can chroot /mnt/sysimage with no problems and even started the services (network, mysql , httpd etc). How can I solve this? I've followed the manual (

/mnt/sysimage/dev folder in rescue mode
If I boot C5 from DVD in rescue mode, chroot to /mnt/sysimage, and try to do a grub-install /dev/sda it will fail because the /dev folder is empty (in the chroot environment). Until now I've then created the missing nodes manually, but is there a smarter way of doing this? Some devfs that needs to be mounted on top of /dev? xfs module not loading
I'm trying to add XFS and ReiserFS to CentOS, integrating with Kickstart. I think I'm fairly close. I've added xfs.ko and reiserfs.ko to modules.cgz in initrd. Several of my partitions now specify --fstype=xfs. I can see tty5 mkfs.xfs is creating the XFS file systems. The system currently installs completely via kickstart, but it does not mount the XFS file systems while in the

CentOS Live CD for System Rescue - How to get full root access to HD?
Booting from the CentOS 5.2 Installation DVD (or the first Installation CD), one can type "linux rescue" and then "chroot /mnt/sysimage" and have full root access to the OS on the HD. For future reference, I would like to know what I did wrong, the past couple of days, when trying to use the CentOS 5.2 i386 Live CD, for rescue. From a terminal, "su -" did not seem to
