Is a guide to installing Centos 6 32 bit that covers such things like: Minimal Kickstart example file Centos 6 multimedia repos Plus any other things I need to be aware of when moving from 5.8 to 6.2 (I know the latest version is 6.3 but I will let yum deal with that when I upgrade the installed packages.) tcptrack for Centos 5.5 32bit rpm
Hi list. I have rebuilt tcptrack now. You can get it from here: http://www.karsites.net/centos/downloads/5.5/tcptrack-1.3.0-1.el5.i386.rpm It's not signed, so to install it with yum as root user, do: # yum localinstall --nogpgcheck tcptrack-1.3.0-1.el5.i386.rpm in the directory you d/l it to. Centos|Windows Cross Platform File Managers
Greetings all! Can anyone recommend a Midnight Commander like file manager that will run on Windows Vista please? I have downloaded and installed 2 MC's for Vista, but the actual MC user window running under Vista is very small compared to my screens real estate, and I cannot seem to make it fill half the screen. I have found Double Commander for Windows:

Upgrading from 5.7 to 5.8
My box did upgrade itself automatically from the initial 5.5 DVD installation to 5.7 How can I tell if my box has been automatically upgraded from 5.7 to 5.8 please? I see the CentOS-CR.repo is still in my /etc/yum.repos.d/ directory. Is that repo responsible for doing the automatic upgrades for Centos 5.x? Kind Regards, Keith Roberts

I'm running C5.8 and want to backup a directory that is 6GB in size. Is there any Linux program for Centos to make this backup over 2 x 4.4GB DVD+R disks please? Icecast startup script for Centos 5.5
Thanks Keith for the pointers on icecast and ices-cc installation how-to. I followed the instructions and completed the two installations in no time. Once, the two programs are installed on CentOS, what's next. Lend a guiding hand to an eager newbie. And keep those straight guidelines coming, please. Multpiple sound cards with ices client?
I was wondering is it possible to use the ices client with more that one soundcard under Centos Linux? I only want to stream one mono audio feed to icecast, but am already using the Line input of my sound card for something else, and the mic input might be far to sensitive. Bandwidth Usage
If there is no sound input on the client audio stream being sent to the icecast server does this mean there is no bandwidth being used - or does icecast use bandwidth even for times when there is no sound on the client input end? No ices for icecast ?
Hi, and a Happy New Year to everyone. I have followed this tutorial to install icecast on Centos 5.5, http://www.howtoforge.com/linux_webradio_with_icecast2_ices2 but cannot find the ices package for sending the audio to icecast for it to stream. I would like to send the data as mp3, if there is a suitable program to do this. Has anyone on the list done this on Centos? Kind Regards,

When does %POST kick in in Kickstart?
Okay, this is really simple but because Google has deteriorated in quality over time, it's getting really hard to find straight forward answers. Very simple; when does the %POST section of the Kickstart file kick in during the install process? Before or after the first reboot? Hopefully this gets picked up easy by the spiders... -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was
