GFS and Small Files
Hi all, We are running CentOS 5.2 64bit as our file server. Currently, we used GFS (with CLVM underneath it) as our filesystem (for our multiple 2TB SAN volume exports) since we plan to add more file servers (serving the same contents) later on. The issue we are facing at the moment is we found out that command such as 'ls' gives a very slow response.(e.g 3-4minutes for the outputs of ls

GFS2 performance
Hi, I'm trying to get more performance out of my DRBD cluster with gfs2. It seems that our gfs2 implementation is quit slow. When running the ping_pong test we get no more than a 1000 locks/sec on the disk. ./ping_pong /mnt/backup/test.dat 4 879 locks/sec The cluster config has been updated with: <dlm plock_ownership="1" plock_rate_limit="0"/>

multiparameter assignment
I''m trying to figure out the rails why to break a single database field out into multiple fields on a form, very similar to how rails does with dates. How can I create my own object that mirrors the date objects behaviur in how it accepts the multiparameter assignment from the form. Example: A phone number field (to force formating on the user) could be broken into 3 form fields,

Looking for gfs2-kmod SRPM
I'm searching for the SRPM corresponding to this installed RPM. % yum list | grep gfs2 gfs2-kmod-debuginfo.x86_64 1.92-1.1.el5_2.2 It is missing from: http://msync.centos.org/centos-5/5/os/SRPMS/ What I need from the SRPM are the patches. I'm working through some issues using the source code, and the patches in the RedHat SRPM

puppetmaster after updating to 7.3
Any one else having issues starting the puppetmaster service after updating to 7.3? Looks like a SELinux issue, I couldn't find an existing bug report, but, seems like I shouldn't be the first one to trip on this issue. # grep puppet audit.log | audit2allow #============= puppetmaster_t ============== allow puppetmaster_t puppetagent_exec_t:file { execute execute_no_trans getattr

Dovecot imaptest on RHEL4/GFS1, RHEL6/GFS2, NFS and local storage results
We have done some benchmarking tests using dovecot 2.0.12 to find the best shared filesystem for hosting many users, here I share with you the results, notice the bad perfomance of all the shared filesystems against the local storage. Is there any specific optimization/tunning on dovecot for use GFS2 on rhel6??, we have configured the director to make the user mailbox persistent in a node, we will

[RFC] Splitting cluster.git into separate projects/trees
Hi everybody, as discussed and agreed at the Cluster Summit we need to split our tree to make life easier in the long run (etc. etc.). We need to decide how we want to do it and there are different approaches to that. I was able to think of 3. There might be more and I might not have taken everything into consideration so comments and ideas are welcome. At this point we haven't really

For the CentOS team : The openais Nightmare. And some questions.
Hello guys, I have some questions about how the CentOS choose and rebuild RH RPMS. First here is my w-e nightmare : I have a 4 nodes Xen cluster using GFS2 (on SAN) and the Cluster Suite. Everything is from the CentOS repo. I am not updating these computers very often. I am always waiting several weeks to install updates just to be sure that everything is fine for others. This w-e I installed
