How Do I ...
All,
I've got a machine running CentOS 5.3 and this machine has got 2 -
built-in 1 Gig NICs and a expansion card with 4 - 100 Meg NICs. For
whatever reason at install time, it made the expansion card eth0 through
eth3 and the internal ports eth4 and eth5. And by default the 'machine' is
known on the network by the eth0 NIC, so my throughput is limited to 100
Mb. How can I force

VMware Server 2.0.1 On CentOS 5
It's my understanding that CentOS is a carbon copy of Red Hat - with the
exception of the art work. Assuming that this is true, the support matrix
for VMware Server 2.0.1 states Red Hat 5.1. I cannot seem to locate a
CentOS 5.1 x86-64 copy. I can get a copy of 5.3 and 5.4. If I take this
route, what should I expect running VMware 2.0.1?
Thanks,

Trouble combining :has_many, :finder_sql and :conditions to create a sub-search
I''m sure there''s something right under my nose that I''m missing. I
have two tables with two parallel one-to-many relationships. I wish to
use the :finder_sql parameter to essentially ''or'' the two foreign
keys.
What isn''t working for me is performing a ''sub-search''.

Server Build Example
I'm coming from the Fedora arena and I want to build, what I would call, a
production server. I'm to the point where I don't want to upgrade every
6-months. I'm running Oracle DB 11g, a Tomcat/JBoss hybrid application
server, and several other server type functions.
Is there an example of building a server that boots into init3?

Thanks,

CentOS 5.4 x86_64 and HPLIP-3.9.12
I recently purchased a HP Officejet Pro 8500 (A909a) and it's ethernet
attached. It's been configured and works perfectly from WinXP, Win Vista,
Windows 7, and Fedora 11 x86_64. However, on my machine running CentOS 5.4
x86_64 I can't get the configuration to work so that it prints duplex
(2-sided). The HP Setup appears to be working from the command line, but

Emulate RHEV On CentOS
Anyone familiar with RHEV (Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization)? Any ideas
on how to emulate this on CentOS?

What's The Odds?
What's the odds of retaining the data in a software raid-1 array when
falling back to CentOS 5.8 x86_64 from CentOS 6.3 x86_64? The array is
made up of 2 - 1.5 TB hard disks. The original array was defined under
CentOS 5.3 x86_64, then CentOS 6.1 x86_64 was installed and over time
upgraded to CentOS 6.3. I need to back-level to test some software not
certified for CentOS/RHEL 6.

CentOS-DS Configuration/Setup Issue
All,
I'm running CentOS 5.4 and I've installed the CentOS Directory Server by
running yum -y install centos-ds* without any errors. But as soon as I
attempt to run the setup I get the following:
[root at jpdsys3 ~]# /usr/sbin/setup-ds-admin.pl
Can't locate Setup.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/lib64/dirsrv/perl

Rebuild - Again!?
I putzd around and messed up my primary system. I could get it back with a
bunch of work a-rounds but I've decided to do a complete rebuild of it.
What I need to run on this machine (besides the CentOS 5.2 OS) is Oracle
11g (requires gnome), VMware Server 2, JBoss 5, plus some other tidbits.
Does anyone have or know of a checklist that I can use to make sure I've
done everything

75% - 80% Rebuild Complete
First I want to thank all of you who responded to me both on this list and
in the CentOS wiki. Your responses helped greatly!
I want to say that if you are running CentOS 5 and you do not have a
overriding reason to go to CentOS 6, stay where you are. It was so much
easier installing CentOS 6 on a new machine, migrating is next to
impossible.
Here's where I am today:

CentOS 6.5 equivalents in CentOS 7
I tried to install CentOS 7 on a new system. It works.
However, I'm noticing small things:
1. system-config-network-tui is not installed and yum cannot find it. I
realized for this -- nmtui
What about firewall? I can't seem to understand the replacement from

Packages installation in CentOs
Hi,
I have a customized CentOS 5.5 kernel. I want it to upgrade it to CentOS 7.
The approach I have decided was to take the CentOS 7 and then install the
customized packages that are there in the CentOS 5.5.
While trying to install the customized packages, I could install most of
the packages, but I couldn't install the below in the latest CentOS 7.
1. rhpl
2. mod_perl

temp file isn''t present after the error so I don''t know if the
permission issue is related to that. Selinux is disabled.
I''m new to FC18 and systemctl so

Kickstart Network Configuration Issues
Hello all,
I've been struggling with an issue with my kickstart configuration for a while now. My kickstart files are stored within the initrd image. What I would like to do here, is when the kickstart first starts up, I want it to grab a DHCP address (it does at the moment) so it can grab all of the necessary installation data off the net. Then, at some point _IN_ the install process, I'd
