Multipathing with Sun 7310
Dear list,
we have a relatively new Sun Storage 7310, where we connect CentOS 5.5
Servers (IBM LS21/LS41 Blades) via Brocade Switches, 4GBit FC. The Blades
boot from SAN via qla2xxx, and have no harddisks at all. We want them to
use multipathing from the very beginning, so /boot and / are already seen
by multipathd. Problem is, that the Sun 7310 has two storage heads which

Memory upgrade breaks net boot (PXE + NFS Root)
Hi list !
A memory upgrade (from 2 to 4Gb) on a bunch of IBM LS21 blades has triggered
a very weird behavior.
I really can't say if this could be PXE related or not - apologies if it
isn't.
These machines start via PXE and then NFS-mount their root.
Following the upgrade, none of them would boot. I've played with the "mem="
kernel option, and the result is :

Centos 6.4 - yum update gives: Error: kernel conflicts with bfa-firmware
On trying a yum update I get the following error:
Error: kernel conflicts with bfa-firmware
yum suggests I work around the problem with --skip-broken or try running
'rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest'
Is there an accepted process for resolving this?

cannot delete non-empty directory
Hello,
I just upgraded from rsync 2.6.4 to 3.0.5 on Solaris 9 (sparc). Since
then, I'm getting this error "cannot delete non-empty directory" on some
directories.
My command is:
rsync -rltDvz --block-size=32768 --delete --delete-excluded --force
--stats --perms=off --chmod=ug=rwX --chmod=o=rX --include "fchba/**"
--exclude "*" $SQABASE/SQA/ $DESTBASE/SQA/

how can I reduce binary size of sshd?
Hi Guys
I need to implement ssh server daemon on OLD installations of real time OS, which uses flash memory and every program gets loaded in flash mem, once the device is booted.
I have very limited space in flash memory of this device.
SO what we are trying to do is reducing the size of sshd by taking out least common used things.
Can someone give me input what features, version and crypto

quota broken for large NFS mount
Should I report this as a bug somewhere? Or is it just a problem with the
old fedora box, probably fixed long ago and not relevant to the centos list?
On the server side, theme4, a very old fedora box, exports t4d5 via NFS.
t4d5 is big, has lots of space, and the user tobiasf has plenty of quota:
[root at theme4 ~]# quota -vls tobiasf|grep sdf
/dev/sdf1 1312G 4578G 4769G

Mac/Samba capacity detection problem
Hi,
We are having a problem between
Linux 2.6.9-prep #12 SMP Mon Dec 6 12:08:34 CST 2004 x86_64 x86_64
x86_64 GNU/Linux
(Samba version 3.0.9-1.fc3)
and
MAC OS X 10.3.5
Samba version 3.0.0rc2
Basically the issue is that the Mac reports the Linux share as being
full, and won't allow files to be copied.
We are able to work around it using this method:

PasswordAuthentication fails in openssh3.7.1p1 as it does not use PAM
All,
I am an engineer working with Brocade.
We recently upgraded one of our products to openssh3.7.1p1. Once we did
this, the password authentication always failed while connecting through
ssh. The authentication succeeds if attempted through
keyboard-interactive authentication.
On debugging this we found that Password authentication is not working
because it doesn't Use PAM in

syslinux.efi pxeboot across multiple subnets
Answer:
Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text,
especially the archives of mailing lists.
Question:
Why is Top-posting such a bad thing?

Call quality questions
Our basic system is as follows:
P4 3.0 Ghz w/ HT, 1GB PC3200 RAM, 120 GB HDD, RH 9.0 OS, * from CVS
several weeks ago, working OK for routing, VM, and AA, calls in on
separate PSTN lines to Adtran TSU 600, into * server through T100P card.
The hardware is not taxed at all with little over 20% proc utilization
ever, low mem use, etc. All Phones are SNOM 200's with various firmware

Samba Serving NFS Mounted Directories
I have a Sun 7310 storage server. This is
running Solaris 10 but it's self-contained
and I can't login to it or run Samba on it.
I manage it with a web interface.
I have a CentOS 5.3 machine that mounts
a bunch of file systems via NFS from the
Sun server. This works fine. I installed
Samba 3.4.5 on the CentOS machine and
configured it to share some of the directories
that are actually NFS

AsteriskNOW x86_64 install GPT partitions
Hello everyone,
I'm having an issue installing AsteriskNOW 2.0.2 on a Dell server. When I
go to intall it, with BIOS legacy mode for partition tables, I get as far
as setting pu the partition tables. However, the installer then informs me
that GPT partition table schemes are required and that I have to resolve
the issue.
I changed from BIOS/MBR/Legacy mode to GPT/UEFI boot mode but then
