Centos7 ds-389
Hello All,
I'm looking at setting up ds-389 on both Centos6.6 en Centos7, both
minimal installs with
epel repo enabled.
When running yum search ds-389 on Centos7 I get only 3 packages,
389-ds-base
389-ds-base-devel
389-ds-base-libs
On Centos6.6 I get the whole list:
389-ds.noarch : 389 Directory, Administration, and Console Suite
389-ds-base.x86_64 : 389 Directory Server (base)

How to handle package conflicts between classes ..
what is the best way to handle package conflicts between classes?
for example, below, i have the following two classes defined and both
include a "package { "perl-LDAP" }", so when used separately they work
as expected but when i need to assign both classes to a node i get a
conflict.
error: "Duplicate definition: Package[perl-LDAP] is already defined"
thanks

CentOS 6 and 389 Directory Server
I'm not sure it this is the correct location to ask these questions, but ...
In the past when I worked for a living the place where I worked had
thousands of RHEL Linux servers on various hardware, but the access was
controlled by Windows Active Directory and a third party piece of
software that was the middle-man between the 2.
Now that I no longer work I'm trying to build a CentOS

Weird bug in 389 Directory Server : no spaces in admin console (CentOS 7)
Hi Niki,
Not familiar with 389-ds, but I'm curious if the admin console where the
spaces are missing is a Java application.? If so, I encountered similar
problems to an unrelated application I use (an older version of
Moneydance) when there was an upgrade to OpenJDK.
If I use:
java-1.8.0-openjdk-1.8.0.222.b10-1.el7_7.x86_64.rpm (and devel,
headless, etc.), the fonts render correctly.

Weird bug in 389 Directory Server : no spaces in admin console (CentOS 7)
Hi,
I'm currently setting up 389 Directory Server on a server running CentOS 7, and
I have a weird and somehow showstopping bug.
All the spaces are suddenly missing in the admin console. Here's a screenshot
so you can get the idea :

So instead of "Standard branch for configuration information", I get
