Problems with Powerware 5115 on Patsburge USB
I am seeing some problems when using the Powerware 5115 UPS when connected to the Patsburg USB controller and would like to know if anyone has a solution. The symptom is that PING messages sent to the bcmxcp_usb driver take as long as 25 seconds to complete. The configuration is a Romley patform (a.k.a., Sandy Bridge + Patsburg) running Debian 6 with 2.6.39 kernel with NUT 2.6.4 in which the

Why are all repos < 5.6 listed?
Greetings all. I just enabled all repos on my system, to enable me to find a particular package. This is the first time I have noticed all the Centos repos < 5.6 being listed. Is this a new feature, to include all repos pre 5.6 now? Here's the output of the aforementioned yum command - sorry it's a little bit long: [root at karsites ~]# yum --enablerepo '*' --disablerepo

WARN in drm_crtc.c:1992 on 3.11-rc2
Hello, I've started seeing the following warning in 3.11-rc2. [In the interest of full disclosure, I do have a patch applied that tries to implement drm_planes, which I might have done completely incorrectly, but looking around it doesn't seem related. I'm definitely not invoking any of the planes functionality right now. See http://paste.debian.net/hidden/cf8b3a2, plus a call to the

Help With Glade and C5 64-bit?
I have a user with C5.4 64-bit, fully updated, performed a yum install glade, it claimed to have installed everything, but we cannot get it to run. Neither whereis nor locate revleal an executable. We obtained the latest glade source from the project's web site, attempted to configure it, until it complained of needed dependencies, namely gtk+ (newer than what was on the system). So I got

How to find out if the installed NIC supports SR-IOV?

Btrfs RAID-10 performance
I cannot verify it, but I think that even JBOD is propagated as a virtual device. If you create JBOD from 3 different disks, low level parameters may differ. And probably old firmware is the reason we used RAID-0 two or three years before. Thank you for the ideas. linux v4.4.0 nouveau fails
Please keep me in the CC. I am not subscribed to this list. When booting 4.4.0 on one of my systems, when nouveau loads, the screen goes into powersave. It doesn't appear to register the fb0 device. When X starts up, the screen comes back and I'm able to login. When launching anything that accesses 3D, the screen freezes. Nothing is logged in either X or dmesg. This same system works

URGENT! Shellshock fix DOES NOT fix the bug on CentOS 5.4
Good afternoon! After applying the latest bash RPM listed at http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-announce/2014-September/020594.html : The fixed RPM (bash-3.2-33.el5_10.4.x86_64.rpm) DOES work just fine on CentOS 5.10. However, it DOES NOT work on CentOS 5.4. That is, bash runs fine, but IS STILL VULNERABLE TO SHELLSHOCK! Scary screenie at: http://i.imgur.com/yR7sBjV.png It looks like

Btrfs RAID-10 performance
Some controllers has direct option "pass through to OS" for a drive, that's what I meant. I can't recall why we have chosen RAID-0 instead of JBOD, there was some reason, but I hope there is no difference with single drive. JBOD / ZFS / Flash backed
Your question is difficult to parse. Typically RAID and JBOD are mutually exclusive. By "flash-backed", do you mean a battery backup unit (BBU) on your RAID controller? Building an "instant on" X terminal
I got my hands on a HP t5720. This was designed as a thin-client workstation (originally Windows XPembedded, talking to a Windows terminal server). It's not very powerful, with an AMD Geode NX 1500 (1.0 GHz), 256Mb RAM (16MB used for video) and a 512Mb flash "hard disk". I plugged in a USB DVD drive and was able to boot "linux rescue" from a C5.4 32bit disk, and it

JBOD / ZFS / Flash backed
Hi, Trying to make the most of a limited budget. I need fast I/O for operations under 4MB, and high availability of VMs in an Ovirt cluster. I Have 3 nodes running Ovirt and want to rebuild them with hardware for converging storage. Should I use 2 960GB SSDs in RAID1 in each node, replica 3? Or can I get away with 1 larger SSD per node, JBOD, replica 3? Is a flash-backed Raid required for
