HardwareList - webcams
Hi List, The hardware list page on the Wiki: http://wiki.centos.org/AdditionalResources/HardwareList says: "I'd like to see this page as an entry point for hardware that does not work with CentOS out of the box or only with some effort. I do not see a need for a list which states all working hardware." I'd like to ask if we can make a small exception to that rule for

Logitech Brio 4K Ultra HD Webcam - 960-001105
Everyone, I was hoping to be able to plug the Logitech Brio in and have it work, but it did not. I can have it connect to a Windows 10 laptop and have it function, so I know the camera works. ? The Centos 7.4 is recognizing it when I plug in the usb 3.0 cable. The results of dmesg demonstrated : [ 4519.922257] input: Logitech BRIO as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:04.0/0000:03:00.0/usb9/9-4/9-

Nouveau doesn't detect DVI - Monitor
Hello, I'm new here, and I hope I can get any help. At first I thought this is a support mailing list, but it looks more like one for developers. I'm using Nouveau in ubuntu bionic. My problem is, when I connect a second Monitor to my Laptop on DVI-D connector, the monitor is not detected, Nouveau reports it as "disconnected". The Hardware works, because the BIOS uses the

Driver for Logitech QuickCam E2500 series webcam
Does anybody know where I can find a driver for a Logitech E2500 webcam. I'm running CentOS 5 on my desktop and want to add a webcam for skype use. If I can yum install a driver from one of the repos that would be great. Andy

Theora for webcam/conferencing use
Hey Theorans, Yesterday and today I decided to try out broadcasting a video stream using Theora from my computer's built-in webcam. I was pleasantly surprised to find that, while maintaining a rate of less than 150kbps, the stream was of quite a suitable quality sending 640x480 video at 15 frames per second. For now, this is video only, by the way, I did not include any audio in the stream

TinnR & Philips Webcam
Hi All, I have a Philips Webcam, model SPC110NC. I had to download a diver in order for the webcam to work with Skype from the philips support page (www.philips.com/support). Now when I start up TinnR to use with R, it opens the webcam. If I manually start up R, Tinn R will no longer synch with it. Also, when I install the webcam driver there doesn't appear to be anyway to modify the

Publishing a webcam on a web page?
This talk of cameras has reminded me of a problem I've not yet been able to solve. I have a Logitech Communicate STX ( ID 046d:08ad Logitech, Inc. QuickCam Communicate STX ) This seems to work under v4l on CentOS 5.4. If I load xawtv (from rpmforge) then I can view the image from the camera. But what I'd like to be able to do is have the image appear on a web page (maybe streaming

Live webcam stream with Theora
Hey all, I've setup a simple page that just displays a live webcam stream of me at work, and it supposedly falls back onto Cortado if your browser doesn't support the <video> tag. The URL is here: http://media.basilgohar.com/stream/ There's been a lot of talk about live streaming and low bitrate streams. Here is my command line (I've posted this before): time ffmpeg -f

Wine and video4linux2 supported webcams
Hi everyone! I'm trying to get clarification about v4l/v4l2 support in Wine. As there is no definite answer anywhere in web. I'm using Logitech webcam which is fully supported by v4l2. However, when I'm trying to use it with simple cam capture program in wine, I can see only that device is there, but I can't do anything else with it. I also did a little digging and so have found
