Selective Sendmail Relaying.
Hi all, I've been trying to hit on the right configuration combo to allow relaying from specific users and/or domains to an internal box running Sendmail. Reading the docs at http://www.sendmail.org/m4/anti_spam.html#relay and http://www.sendmail.org/m4/anti_spam.html#access_db_fine I would appear that I should be able to all per-address relaying in /etc/mail/access by enabling

Up to date guide/information Sendmail SMTP Auth
Hello all, I've been googling my brains out since yesterday looking for up-to-date information on this matter, and have found information that is anywhere from 15 to 5 years old. I'd really like some information that much more up to date on the subject. Specifically configuring Sendmail SMTP authentication (_no smart host stuff_). I've got Sendmail 8.14 installed on a CentOS 7.3

sendmail many emails
I was getting MANY emails from XXX.hinet.net - kind of filled my mqueue directory. I stopped sendmail. removed all the files in mqueue, added to sendmail access a REJECT for hinet.net This certainly seems to help - but is that the correct way to take care of this sort of thing? Thanks, Jerry

sendmail - smtp security/authentication & port 587 issues
Greetings, I'm refining a CentOs configuration installation, now just over one month old running on a colocated production server. Previously, we ran a version of Fedora for over seven years. Specifically, I'm reviewing our sendmail configuration, both with respect to authentication and port usage. Previously, we had the following line in the sendmail.mc line:

Sendmail using SMTP authorization
Hi - OK not really an Asterisk question but it is affecting one of my favorite features - emailing voice mail! I've posted on some Linux forums and sendmail.org but no response so I'm hoping someone will take pity on me ;-) My ISP requires SMTP authorization and I'm having a heck of a time getting it to work. I've included the following below: Asterisk 1.4.21 CentOS 5 Sendmail

SMTP auth with Sendmail
Dear All, I have two machines, a Centos 3.4 machine and a Centos 4.1 machine. I have used the same sendmail.mc file on each, and 3.4 machine does plain SMTP auth with no problems, compiling the same mc file on the 4.1 machine gives this error: xxxxx [x.x.x.x] did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during connection to MTA in the logs, it doesn't even try to authenticate, the cyrus sasl rpm

sendmail / logwatch relaying issue - driving me crazy
Hallo, *<:-) may be I'm to tired to see the solution, maybe someone can give me a hint? I do have a couple of servers, sending the daily logwatch report to a central support email account. Some servers do have DNS A and CNAME records. On my mailserver relaying for the servers is allowed. Only one server drives me crazy, getting user unknown or releaying denied messages. Any idea, how

Disable SSLv3 in sendmail in CentOS 5
RedHat released sendmail-8.13.8-10.el5_11.src.rpm which includes sendmail-8.13.8-ssl-opts.patch which adds support for disabling SSLv3 and SSLv2 in sendmail.cf But as far as I can see there is no support in sendmail.mc - I can't see how to compile sendmail.mc to get the required line ServerSSLOptions in sendmail.cf Does anyone know how to do this ? -- Andrew Daviel, TRIUMF, Canada

Sendmail log entries
Recently we began seeing lots of these log entries on our off-site mx smtp host. I have googled this but I am not clear from what I have read if this is something we can stop altogether or should even worry about. Comments? Forbidden: can't access *.html files in /var/www/html
Hello, I'm using the latest CentOS with phpBB 3.0.x + postgreSQL + sendmail (relayed through gmail.com) - all those programs working fine, with no big modifications of the CentOS defaults (i.e. SELinux is on). Now I'm struggling with the seemingly simple problem, that when I put an .html file into /var/www/html/ then Apache won't serve it. In the browser I see: "Forbidden You

icecast2 relaying
Hi, Can someone enlighten me, how does icecast2 stream relaying work? Is it same (pull-style) setup like in icecast 1.x? in the config file, I see elements like: <master-server>127.0.0.1</master-server> <master-server-port>8001</master-server-port> <master-update-interval>120</master-update-interval>

sendmail not sending after reboot
HI folks, I've an up-to-date CentOS 5.x box on a small intranet (<20 users). We did a reboot over the weekend and all appears well except that clients on the LAN can no longer send email. Just hangs/times out. No clear identifiers in the /var/log/maillog or /var/log/messages. We're not setup for ESMTP as it's a closed network and I'm really hoping for a kickstart as to

Asterisk not relaying back the SIP response messages
HI all, I have the following setup running: EP<--->Calling Asterisk<--->Relaying Asterisk<--->Softswitch<---> PSTN The Endpoint EP is registered with the Calling Asterisk. Calls are forwarded from this machine to Relaying Asterisk which in turn forwards it to the Softswitch. In addition, this machine also relays back responses from the Softswitch to the Calling
