device-mapper multipath
I am attempting to get multipath working with device-mapper (CentOS
4.2 and 4.3). It works on EVERY install of mine from RH (also v4.2,
4.3), but the same multipath.conf imported to all my installs of
CentOS do not work. Note that I have tested a working 4.2
configuration file from RH on CentOS 4.2 and a working 4.3
configuration (it changed slightly) on CentOS 4.3. Neither worked. Our

dm-multipath use
Are folks in the Centos community succesfully using device-mapper-multipath?
I am looking to deploy it for error handling on our iSCSI setup but there
seems to be little traffic about this package on the Centos forums, as far
as I can tell, and there seems to be a number of small issues based on my
reading the dm-multipath developer lists and related resources.

hi all
We have a rh linux server connected to two HP SAN controllers, one an HSV200 (on the way out),
the other an HSV400 (on the way in). (Via a Qlogic HBA).
/etc/multipath.conf contains this :

SUMMARY : multipath using defaults rather than multipath.conf contents for some devices (?) - why ?
The reason for the behaviour observed below turned out to be that the
device entry in /etc/multipath.conf was inadvertently appended *after* the devices
section , rather than inside it - so that we had
#devices {
# device {
# blah blah
# } (file has a bunch of defaults commented out)
# etc
#}

multipath troubleshoot
Hi,
My storage admin just assigned a Lun (fibre) to my server. Then re scanned using
echo "1" > /sys/class/fc_host/host5/issue_lip
echo "1" > /sys/class/fc_host/host6/issue_lip
I can see the scsi device using dmesg
But mpath device are not created for this LUN
Pleas see below. The last 4 should be active and I think this is the problem

GPT Partitions >2.2T with Centos 5.5
Dear all,
unfortunately I observe drastic drops in read- performance when I connect
LUNs >2.2T to our Centos 5.5 Servers. I suspect issues with the GUID
Partition Table, since it happens reproducibly only on the LUNs >2.2T and
goes back to normal performance when using a LUN <2T with "normal", Legacy
MBR partitions.
All machines are CentOS 5.5 (and RHEL 5.5) on IBM Blades

BUG(?): multipathd confusion leads to kernel panic in Xen 3.2.1-rc2
Hi all. While playing with iSCSI Enterprise Target + multipathd on CentOS
5.1 (both the target and the initiator/multipath/xen box are Cent 5.1), I
encountered a strange fault condition that leads to a kernel panic in a
version of Xen 3.2.1-rc2 pulled from a couple of days ago. My lab consists
of two Clovertown machines with dual GigE into separate switches. The
target box is softraid5

Tracking down hangs
We're using a storage solution involving two SunFire X4500 servers using
DRBD to replicate a 15TB partition across the network with ocfs2 on top.
We're sharing the partition from one server over NFS and the other is
mounted read-only at present. The DBRD backing store is software RAID 60
on 40 disks.
We've been seeing periodic issues whereby our NFS clients (Debian Lenny)

Device-mapper-multipath not working correctly with GNBD devices
Hi all,
I am trying to configure a failover multipath between 2 GNBD devices.
I have a 4 nodes Redhat Cluster Suite (RCS) cluster. 3 of them are used for
running services, 1 of them for central storage. In the future I am going to
introduce another machine for central storage. The 2 storage machine are
going to share/export the same disk. The idea is not to have a single point
of failure

pvresize on a cLVM
Hi,
I'm needing to expand a LUN on my EMC CX4-120 SAN. (Well I already had done it).
On this LUN I had a PV of a cLVM VG. Know I need to run pvresize on it.
Has anybody done this on a cLVM PV ?
I'm trying to rescan the devices, but I can't "see" the new size. And,
googling on it I can only find RHEL5.2 responses.
Thanks in advance,

lvm with iscsi devices on boot
Hi All,
My CentOS 5.1 server is using iSCSI attached disks connecting
to a dual controller storage array. I have also configured multipathd
to manage the multiple paths. Everything works well, and on
boot the dev nodes are automatically created in /dev/mapper.
On these devices, I have created logical volumes using lvm2.
My problem is that lvm does not recognize these iscsi/multipath
volumes on

officejet 7310
Has anyone gotten centos 4 to print on an officejet 7310?
I have tried jetdirect with pcl and postcript no go...
I have tried smb but it does seem to be browsable as its not listed
and when I specify I enter the IP address for server and I dont
know what the share is.
Windows XP connects and prints fine.
THanks,
Jerry
