Build a LiveCD?
Hi,
I have a highly customized desktop built from CentOS 5.4 and RPMForge
repos (plus some stuff of my own). I'd like to build a LiveCD from that,
for one very specific reason. I have a medical application (MedinTux)
that would be very handy to demonstrate to doctors, hospital staff, etc.
with a LiveCD.
Any ideas?

Custom ISO based on kickstart
Hello!
I would like to shrink my installation media restricted only to
necessary packages based on my kickstart file. So I am looking for an
application/script which select rpms and those dependencies based on a
kickstart file. If just display them that is ok does not need to
copy/download anything else. Is there any such utility?
I've found a site which helps to select rpms based on my

Creating an alternitive install CD for CentOS 5.2 (w/ patched mkinitrd)
I need to be able to install CentOS 5.2 on a machine with software RAID
(and LVM) setup. I discovered (the hard way!) that there is a bug in
the mkinitrd package that causes it to enter an endless loop when there
are /dev/mapper/ devices present during the install process. There is a
patch to mkinitrd, which I applied and created a new rpm for mkinitrd
with this patch applied. I'd like to

how do I create a custom CD from an existing CD?
Hi all
This may sound funny, but I can't get onto any websites right now, so I
can't even google. I want to customize the contents of my CentOS 5.1 x64
CD, and re-create the ISO to write to CD again and install on a server.
I know it's got something todo with mkisofs, but I'm not 100% sure what
the commands should look like
Can someone please give me a sample of the whole

Regarding http://twitter.com/CentOS/statuses/79336297579282432

1. latest dd_rescue
2. latest gparted
3. ntfs-3g
4. screen
5. mc

Fedora Revisor with CentOS 5 Support
Looks like Fedora released a new version of Revisor, 2.0.4.1-2, (Custom Live
CD Generator) that includes support for generating CentOS5 live cds.
Just thought someone might like to know.
Cheers!

help with model relationship for Product/Bill of Materials
I am struggling to find the best way to set up relationships to
achieve this so that it fits the rails idioms.
I have a table of products and I want to be able to create a bill of
materials for a product..
So a product can either be a single item, or a package consisting of
several other products.
I have created a table:

Storing and restoring sound settings
Hello,
I have made a bootable CD (with revisor) of CentOS 6.
The CD boots and starts a game automatically (for an exhibition).
I have one problem: The default sound settings are not correct.
After the machine is booted, I have to open gnome-volume-control,
select "Hardware", and select "Digital Stereo (HDMI) Output" under
"Profile".
How can I set this up

Making custom USB install media
Hey List,
I apologize for how broad this may be, but hopefully someone here can help
me out. I need to make custom kickstart installers to be used in the field
to install microservers (Intel NUCs, EFI boot) that don't have optical
drives and may not have internet connections.
I can make a custom ISO just fine using the pretty common steps,
specifically following what's here:

CentOS 5 Live USB
I took a stab at making a bootable CentOS 5 Live USB pendrive and I ended up with a kernel panic. I was able to do this with a live CD of CentOS 4, but it seems the same procedure does not work for the new version.
Has anyone been able to accomplish this? Any and all thoughts are apprecicated!

CentOS Build
Johnny, or any one to answer.
http://www.linuxhelp.net/forums/How_to_Build_Enterprise_Srpms_t3384.html
As it seems this was done in 2004. Is there an updated version to it?
Also the required pckages needed. I have the info from WBL site and
various scripts from the centos site.
What i am really interested in is the main os rebuild with anaconda
runtime. I'm not after creating a live image.

Install CentOS based distro
Hi,
I'm making a dedicated distribution based on CentOS 5.1
My doubt is about the installation of the "new" distro.
I was thinking about a (K)ubuntu kind of way: the CD/DVD boots, a
graphical interface appears with an "Install" button, just a click on it
and then just wait to finish.
Now, I'd like to avoid building RPMs for my added software. Is this
possible this

[LLVMdev] SIV tests in LoopDependence Analysis, Sanjoy's patch
Hi Sanjoy & Hal,
Looking at LoopDependenceAnalysis::analyzeZIV ...
I don't understand much about SCEV, but the code seems inadequate.
Consider these three examples:
int a = ...; // we can't be sure of the relationship between a and b
int b = ...; // perhaps they are parameters, or the result of I/O
for (int i = 0; i < n; i++) {
v[a][i] = ...;
v[a + 1][i] = ...;
}
for (int i

Windows 2003 AD users not found
I recently changed from Windows 2000 native active directory mode to
Windows 2003 active directory mode. When I did that, users could no
long connect to any of the Samba shares. They were prompted for a
username and password. The following error was logged in the winbind

I think this can be fixed by ordering the subscripts

implementing path profiling into LLVM. I have completed my project

We are looking for a reviewer for the path profiling implementation. We
have sent previous requests to the llvmdev list but have so far been
unsuccessful.

llvm.memcpy for struct copy
Hi Ma,
how can I transform the llvm.memcpy into data move loop IR and eliminate

>
I'm not sure why you are concerned about memcpy and bitcasts, but if you
call MCpyInst->getSource() and MCpyInst->getDest() it will look through
casts and give you the 'true' source/destination.
If you want to get rid of memcpy altogether, you can take a look
