How to specify the default route?
I have a machine with two net interfaces.
it seems to always pick the wrong one (eth1) as the default route.
I can change it with
route del default
route add default eth0
after it's up (or in rc.local, of course), but I'd like to figure out
what I need to do this "the CentOS way" (e.g. edit some configuration
file? Run some config utility, what?) once and for all.

Strange Postfix problem
Hello,
Was trying to setup postfix on my home PC. Running Centos 6.4. I don't
have a static IP and use zoneedit and ddclient to keep my installation
of zoneminder current.
So I decided I wanted to get zoneminder to send me email alerts. Sent
some test messages but none were sent.
I went to webdnstools website thinking maybe there is a dns or network
problem.
When it checks my dns setup,

Problem shuting down server.
Have Centos 5.3 installed in a HP ML110 server. After cloning disk using
Clonezilla, if I issue a shutdown -h now, or any other command to shut
down the server (i.e. init 0 or poweroff), instead of shutting down the
server reboots.
I googled but could't find any answer. ?Does anybody has a clue about
why this is happening?

Transparent proxy with LVS
I've managed to configure a LVS Cluster to act as a transparent proxy
squid farm, with a virtual server as load balancer, and three real
servers. Because redirecting packets going to port 80 to port 3128 of
squid in the load balancer doesn't works, the solution has a mix of ip
route and iptables.
Here is the script I wrote to configure transparent proxy.
#!/bin/bash

Problem updating ddclient
when I ran "sudo yum update" on my CentOS-7.2.1511 today,
ddclient was updated to ddclient-3.8.3-1.el7.noarch (from 3.7.3),
and ddclient.conf was moved to ddclient.conf.rpmsave .
When I move it back, "sudo systemctl restart ddclient"
fails with the error (in "sudo journalctl -xe | grep ddclient")

ignore pattern for ddclient
Hi all,
I use logcheck and ddclient, and I think that it would be usefull to
add an ignore pattern for ddclient:
^\w{3} [ :0-9]{11} [._[:alnum:]-]+ ddclient[[0-9]+]:
SUCCESS: updating [._[:alnum:]-]+: good: IP address set to [.#[:digit:]]+
The original messages are like this:
Jan 18 10:26:40 casaserv ddclient[4397]: SUCCESS: updating
myserver.mine.nu: good: IP address set to 12.345.67.89

Virtualization Networking
Hello,
I'm a little confused on which networking option I need to choose when
setting up a VM.
I set up two VMs this past weekend both with NAT. Both able to were
access the internet.
The first one, I created in my / file system but didn't really have the
space so I deleted it.
The second one, I created in /home/kvm, but deleted it as well when I
couldn't access it FROM the

Multi-ISP with one Dynamic IP
I have two feeds, one with a static IP and one with a dynamic IP. How
can I configure a Multi-ISP setup with the dynamic IP, or can I? I don''t
think the gateway will change, just the interface IP.

DNS or firewall problem
Been working this for over a month now and I'm stumped.
Everything was working until the 'crash'. Backup was no good so I did a
fresh install of centos 5.5. Trying to get things back like they were but
its been a really long time since I had to set things up from scratch,
Redhat 2.0.
My centos server acts as a gateway/firewall/router for my home network.

Asterisk on Dynamic IP to a SIP extension
Verizon has put another good third party DSL supplier out of the DSL business. Their mindset is to kill the competition and then kill DSL and copper althogether in FIOS areas.
So am soon losing my static IP and I need to prepare for the change. I currently have Asterisk running using, besides local extensions, a remote SIP extension in another state. In the new configuration both Asterisk and

Networking question
Hello,
Is it possible to use a mobile hot spot such as the one from Verizon to run a home network? Is there a way to do this without having to buy wireless cards? I was thinking maybe I would have to buy one for my centos machine which acts as my gateway but would like to have other devices wired.
Not sure if a wireless router or access point would allow me to do so.
TIA,
Eddie

[patch] Initialize xen_vcpu0 before initialize irq_ops
Hello,
I find a strange behavior. When a machine is slow (or with many debug
traces or a qemu vm),
a interrupt can occur between the pv_irq_ops initialization and the xen_vcpu[0]
initialization. This lead to a problem because some operations in
xen_irq_ops use
xen_vcpu.
I send you a patch to fix that but I''m not quite sure that is the
right solution.

running jail with alternate IP
I am currently setting up a firewall that translates my internal network
over to 5 public IP addresses. The addresses are dynamically assigned, so I
use ddclient to update my www.dyndns.org account. I've set up several
aliases on the external interface of the firewall, and succeeded in having
the internal computers use those extra public IPs.
What I want to do is have 5 copies of ddclient
