Bind9 issue
Hi Bob, ? Ok, things are looking ok again? dpkg-reconfiure krb5.conf , doesnt do much expect installing and configuringing krb5.conf which basicly only sets the REALM.? "init administrator" will not connect to kerberos? If the DNS isnt running, its unable to resolv the servernames for the REALM. Resulting in, you not able to kinit. ? Greetz, ? Louis ? ? Bind9 issue
Rowland, To answer you first, my "example.com" registered host is a wildcat " *. example.com". Everything example.com returns my external ip address. Both bind9 and samba are running. Might add your "options" but for now, solving my problem, first. Louis, your answer in a few minutes. On Wed, Sep 30, 2020 at 8:09 AM Rowland penny via samba < samba at

DNS resolver over IPv6
I have a Centos server that is running BIND and has IPv6 global addresses. I have entered a number of AAAA records into this copy of BIND in a local view and zone (tld is htt). Over IPv4, I have no trouble with nslookup ('nslookup - 127.0.0.1' and 'nslookup - 192.168.128.55'). I get the AAAA records back. But if I try to use the IPv6 address of the system I get a time out.

Bind9 issue
Bind_DLZ is not loaded Which makes sence if we see the errors.. Verify if this is loaded.. I have it in named.conf.local // adding the dlopen ( Bind DLZ ) module for samba, beware, if you using bind9.9 then you need to change this manualy include "/var/lib/samba/bind-dns/named.conf"; > -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- > Van: samba [mailto:samba-bounces at

Package lists for Cloud images
hi Guys, As we get ready to start publishing Cloud Images ( or rather images consumable in various virt platforms, including public and private clouds ) - it would be great to have a baseline package manifest worked out. What / how many images should we build. At this time we were thinking of doing : - CentOS-5 32bit minimal - CentOS-6 32bit minimal - CentOS-5 64bit minimal - CentOS-6 64bit

Forcing IPv4 DNS lookups first before IPv6
Hello! I am having a strange issue with CentOS 5.4 that I cannot seem to solve. Every DNS lookup results in AAAA records being requested first before A records. As a result, this causes a large amount of unnecessary DNS traffic on the network. IPv6 has been completely disabled on these servers: /etc/modprobe.conf, ipv6 off and net-pf-10 off /etc/sysconfig/network, NETWORKING_IPV6=no lsmod |

Installing over network
Hi All, I see that sparc.centos.org does not contain any ISO's so that I can install from CD. How does one install over the internet? I have never done it before. I assume use the boot.iso and make sure that I have DHCP turned on so that I get an IP automatically from my router? Any advice? -Jason

adjust SOA record
Hi, We have outdated SOA information in our samba DNS. We used to have a DC1, and it is no more, however it's listed in our SOA records on both remaining DC's. I think this is not correct. I am under the impression that in order to get full failover support, all DC's need to have listed themselves as SOA. This is also what google tells me:

IPv6 and IPv4 binding address on a server with 2 network cards
Hello, I am doing some tests with asterisk on a dual-stack environment. I have some doubts regarding asterisk binding addresses on a server with 2 network cards. According to asterisk documentation: /; With the current situation, you can do one of four things:/ /; a) Listen on a specific IPv4 address. Example: bindaddr=192.0.2.1/ /; b) Listen on a specific IPv6 address.
