Wireless USB adaptor recommendation
Hello,
can someone recommend me wireless USB adaptor, which is supported in
Centos 5.7? I found information about various chipsets, but nothing like
"device X is OK". In most online stores the chipset is not announced.
Thanks in advance.

Problems with AWUS036H usb wirless nic under CentOS 6.2
Hi all,
I have problems with a wireless usb adapter (AWUS036H) under CentOS
6.2 x86_64 machine. Sometimes, randomly, it loses wireless connection
and never back. I need to do an ifdown and then an ifup, but sometimes
works and sometimes not. If I am not wrong this adapter uses rtl8187
chip ...
Somebody knows what can I do?? Under Windows 2008 R2 server works
perfect ...
Thanks.

CentOS 5 on an MSI Wind U100 Netbook && RTL8187 wireless card configuration
Hi,
I recently purchased an MSI Wind Netbook, just slightly bigger than an
EeePC, and IMHO just one step above the mere toy category. It's got a
10" monitor, 80 GB SATA HD, and the keyboard is just big enough so I can
type with ten fingers (with a little exercise). The thing came
preinstalled with Windows XP, and I've spent the last two days figuring
out how I could possibly

3.2 kernel with C5? Or ndiswrapper?
I know, I know... don't use the non-standard kernels unless you have to...
BUT: I have a D-Link N150 USB card.
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0846:9030 NetGear, Inc. WNA1100 Wireless-N 150 [Atheros AR9271]
This isn't supported in C5, but it is supported in newer kernels (ath9k_htc).
So let's try NDISwrapper:
  # rpm -i kmod\-ndiswrapper\-1.56\-1.el5.elrepo.i686.rpm

ndiswrapper and 4K stacks problem (system freezes)
Hi Folks,
I'm trying tio install WLAN - USB - Stick Netgear WG111v3.
ndiswrapper -i wg111v3
works.
I can see ndiswrapper -l
	wg111v3: driver installed
	device (0846:4260) present
But after modprobe ndiswrapper the system freezes.
Troublshooting on ndiswrapper-sites says:
It's a problem of "kernel is using 4K stacks (CONFIG_4KSTACKS)"
Solution: recompile the kernel.

[PATCH 2/3] xen: make direct versions of irq_enable/disable/save/restore to common code
Now that x86-64 has directly accessible percpu variables, it can also
implement the direct versions of these operations, which operate on a
vcpu_info structure directly embedded in the percpu area.
In fact, the 64-bit versions are more or less identical, and so can be
shared. The only two differences are:
 1. xen_restore_fl_direct takes its argument in eax on 32-bit, and rdi on 64-bit.

slightly different audio output
Hi,
I wonder if there is specific requirement or restriction for the decoder
in order to be consider "Vorbis" compliant (or let's say, to be a
"correct" vorbis decoder). I am experimenting with integerized libvorbis
and the decoder delivers the audio data as following, (and compare with
the floating point version below).

Bitrate peeling
Hi all,
I recently started to study the Ogg Vorbis codec and found an interesting
feature called bitrate peeling [1]. Do you know where I can find more
information on this topic? E.g., how is the actual peeling being
implemented, what are the performance results in terms of resulting quality,
what are the requirements for bitrate peeling (can it be applied to any ogg
vorbis stream), ...?

Problem to demote samba4 dc
Hi all,
I recently migrated our samba 3 domain to an AD domain using Samba 4
classic upgrade tool. Well, every seems to work fine since i'm still
alive ;) .
I promoted a Windows 2k8 box as a new DC of this domain and I transfer
the 5 FSMO roles to it.
Now I would like to demote the Samba4 DC but when I tried I got this
message :
# samba-tool domain demote
ERROR: Current DC is still
