have udev to ignore/hide a scsi disk - but how?
hi everyone I've been playing and trying to tell udev to ignore and not create symlinks in /dev but I fail. Hoping this is the one: ENV{ID_SERIAL}== I've tried: ENV{SYSTEMD_READY}:="0" OPTIONS+="last_rule" even ENV{UDISKS_IGNORE}="1" but udev tests would still show: ACTION=add and symlinks created. Would share an advice? many thanks, L.

Problems with OCFSTOOL after LUN Maintenance
In installing 10g\RAC we hit an issue that has been indentified as a bug with CRS where the cluster locking files cannot be implemented under OCFS. Supposedly they work fine when implemented as Raw Devices. We needed to reclaim some space from existing LUN's to create the raw devices as we had expected to able to put all Oracle related files under OCFS (Yes, we belived the hype). This

[PATCH] fix udevinfo version string parsing
check_hotplug fails on one of my machines running ubunto 4.10 "Warty Warhog", due to misparsing the udevinfo version string. The problem is caused by an old version of sed that does not appreciate the regexp. This patch fixes it, and also works on debian unstable and SLES9SP2. Please apply... Local and remote back up behave differently
I have run out of ideas on why the local and remote back ups done with the script below behave differently. The local always seems to be a complete back up while the remotes are delta back ups except on Mondays. Cron line example: /root/bin/backups /export/home redwood "--exclude='*.sock' --exclude='*cache*' --exclude=/export/home/*/.gvfs" #!/bin/bash # Script for one

APC SmartUPS 2200XL + UDEV + USB = tcgetattr : Invalid argument
I need direction. I don't know what to google for anymore. I am unable to get my SmartUPS 2200XL to be recognized. My suspicions are that it's UDEV or Kernel related. I've updated the kernel to the highest version I feel comfortable with due to other things that run on the server, and I've updated UDEV a bit too. When I plug in the USB cable from the UPS into the server, I

Odd issue with custom udev rule at boot
Hi All, I've written a custom udev rule to change the permissions of /dev/ttyS* but it doesn't seem to be working at boot up. If I run /sbin/udevcontrol reload_rules; udevtrigger The rules are parsed, applied and the permissions are then correct but why is it not doing so at boot? The file in questions I've called /etc/udev/rules.d/49-udev-override.rules and it contains

[PATCH] virtio-scsi spec: add per-LUN parameter query
Each virtio scsi HBA has global request queue limits. But the passthrough LUNs (scsi-generic) come from different host HBAs may have different request queue limits. If the guest sends commands that exceed the host limits, the commands will be rejected by host HAB. To address this issue, this patch adds a per-LUN parameter query via the control queue, and defines some parameter query types. The

How to split HTML content? Well, the text like: <p>Ruby&nbsp;on&nbsp;Rails is a next-generation web-framework<br><b>YEAH!</b>And of course Java killer?! :) &copy;</p> You can split to a pages in a smart way. I tried to realize it in a gem for my internal use, and now when it works for my Rails 3.1.3 application, this is enough to make it public. I

HP SureStore 40x6e - Multiple LUN's problem on CentOS 4.4
This is one of those autoloaders where the tape drive and the library share a SCSI ID, but are on different LUN's - specifically the library should be on LUN 1. Apparently since so many devices like this are broken, recent kernels don't probe beyond the first LUN, so it's not detecting the library. My /proc/scsi/scsi output: Attached devices: Host: scsi4 Channel: 01 Id: 00 Lun:

in_place_collection_editor
Hi, I''m trying to write a helper for Scriptaculous'' InPlaceCollectionEditor component. I''ve already submitted a patch (http://dev.rubyonrails.org/ticket/4302). This was a drunk patch; it needs a bit of work (Don''t drink & code!). So far I''ve gotten it to work correctly with normal collections, but I want to use it for belongs_to relations as
