Looking for gfs2-kmod SRPM
I'm searching for the SRPM corresponding to this installed RPM.
% yum list | grep gfs2
gfs2-kmod-debuginfo.x86_64 1.92-1.1.el5_2.2
It is missing from:

What I need from the SRPM are the patches. I'm working through
some issues using the source code, and the patches in the RedHat

Cannot built kmod-dahdi-linux for PAE kvariant from SRPM
I using the asterisk yum repository at http://packages.asterisk.org/centos/5/current to install a vanilla asterisk. All went well on my development server, which is a fully up to date CentOS5 machine. But now I am trying to do the same with my production server, which is an OEL5 machine with the 2.6.18-128.el5PAE kernel. This throws a dependency error for kmod-dahdi-linux.

kmod-kvm for custom CentOS 5.5 kernel
Hello all!
I have actual need to build a custom kernel.(Have to change Preemption
model to 'server' and turn off Preempt the big kernel lock, ect) I have heard
bits and pieces about these changing defaults in newer kernels but I haven't
investigated that yet.
This of course is not a problem at all, made my needed changes to the source
code and successfully build both the standard

Yum refuses to install kmod-8188eu from elrepo
I am having trouble using the realtek wifi chip in my new tp-link
usb wifi dongle. Upon plugging it, the device gets registered by the
kernel (in /var/log/messages), but that's about it, no network device
is being created (iwconfig does not see it, nothing else works).
A few google searches later I found out that this realtek chip is not
supported by the kernel and requires a driver, and that

Semi-OT: hardware: NVidia proprietary driver, C7.4
Hi, folks,
Well, still more fun (for values of fun approaching zero):
1. Went to install CUDA 9.0... well, gee, there is *no* CUDA 9.0.
Even though I installed the 9 repo, all that I get is 8. I've
used their webform, and an waiting on a reply.
2. I remove all nvidia packages.
3. It appears that the kmod-nvidia is what I need; that's what

No. I read the CentOS wiki page here, which states that ELRepo doesn't
provide these drivers due to licence restrictions, and that the user has
to build them manually.

Ndiswrapper refuses to install?
Hi everyone! :-)
I have a problem with making a wireless USB dongle work under CentOS 6. The
dongle is known to not work natively under Linux and last time I used it (cca
3 years ago) I managed to get it working using ndiswrapper.
This time I was hoping to make it work again in the same way. But the "yum
install kmod-ndiswrapper" reports the following (among other regular stuff):

Problems with Broadcom 4312 wireless
Hello David,
In brief, I've solved this problem on my Dell Inspiron 1525 (with
Broadcom 4312 wireless card), so I figured letting You know would be
nice, 'cause it didn't seem like the issue is resolved.
Visit this link:
http://jomcode.com/fadhil/?p=59
and in addition check out the comment on the same page by Andre Kiepe to
have the modules load on boot.
Best Regards,
Milos.

Cannot built kmod-dahdi-linux for PAE kvariant from SRPM
After many moons I have revisited this problem and found a solution that moves the problem further up the stack. I will post my new problem separately but just for completeness here is the solution.
Original problem: trying to build kmod-dahdi-linux for out of date PAE kernel.
Errors:
rpmbuild --bb ~/localrpms/SPECS/dahdi-linux-kmod.spec --target=i686 --define "kversion `uname -r`"

kmod-nvidia-430.40-1.el7_6.elrepo.x86_64 fails to install
Everyone,
On August 2, my desktop unit updated with kmod-nvidia-430.40-1.el7_6.elrepo.x86_64nnn
which broke yum having a multiple of dependencies not being present. I uninstall kmod-
dvidia with the hopes that a fresh install would fix the provlem, but it did not.
nvidia-detect returns :
kmod-nvidia
An Intel display controller was also detected
I was hoping that this was a repository problem

kmod-nvidia?
I just went to install kmod-nvidia on a 64-bit CentOS 6.2 system... and
enabling elrepo, yum can't find it. There's a page for it, but that was
last updated last year, and there are also references to packages for
older Nvidia cards, but not the current.
What do I not know?
