CentOS Repo Questions (and Samba)
Hello,
I have two questions which are really CentOS repository related, but
they primarily revolve around the Samba packages available.
1) Why is the s390 architecture version of Samba for CentOS 4 so much
more up to date than the i386 architecture version? If you open these
two links in a browser window...

where to find Single Server CD edition?
I'm looking for the "Single Server CD" mentioned in this Linux article (
http://www.linux.com/articles/60825), but can seem to find it in the CentOS
link provided there in the article.
http://isoredirect.centos.org/centos/4/isos/i386/
All of the places serving the images have either, (a) all of the 5 cd set,
and/or (b) a DVD .torrent file. I just want the ~200MB single server cd.

thanks; after some waiting time, 1804 now keeps repeating "dracut
initqueue timeout - starting timeout scripts" for a while, then drops
into the emergency shell. no suspicious error messages in the log.

Problems after performing yum update
I performed the update yesterday that included installing kernel

First, the trivial...
Wireshark would not run from the KDE menu without editing the menu to
change the command from "wireshark" to "kdesu wireshark" because dumpcap
is at usr/sbin/dumpcap instead of /usr/bin/dumpcap . Making the change

how to assess the significance of regression between a set of response and predictor variables
Dear list,
I have been using multivariate multiple regression (MMR) in the form
lm(Y~X) where Y and X are matrices of response and predictor variables.
I know that summary(mlm.object) would give the usual lm statistics for
each response variable separately and that anova.mlm(mlm.object) will
give the analysis of variance table of the mlm object. However,
anova.mlm (also manova(mlm.object))

convert command not found in movie3d (rgl package) in Mac OS X
Dear list,
I gave up trying to fix my movie3d (rgl library) issue in my PC
(completely black gif/png file) and went ahead and installed MacPorts
and ImageMagick onto my iMac (OSX ver 10.6.8). I think ImageMagick is
successfully installed in its default location (under /opt/local), and
I ran movie3d but I get the following error:

Problems setting language in R-2.13.0 and opening RData
Dear list,
I just recently installed R-2.13.0 on my Windows7. I used to run R-2.10.0.
First of all, I used to be able to install R in English (in R-2.10.0)
during the installation procedure. My PC is in a Japanese environment
but I want R to be in English because I won't be able to interpret any
errors if they are in Japanese (I am Japanese so I can read them but I

CentOS wiki/web changes
Hi,
A few things I would like to see fixed in the short term:
+ Simplifying the frontpage. I gave a rationale on my blog why I think
the frontpage should be more simple an structured. You can see the
proposal here:
http://wiki.centos.org/FrontPageProposal
Ralph already criticized that there is too much text and I tend to
agree. I would prefer to see an image instead and
