ocfs and dbca
Hi all,
hoping someone has some insight on this issue.
I am working on a first install of RAC.
I have installed OCFS 1.0.9.4 (upgraded from 1.0.8 before installing the rest of the oracle software) on a 3 node RedHat AS 2.1 cluster. The kernel is 2.4.9-e.25.enterprise. Oracle software installed 9.2.0.4.
I fdisk'd the storage devices, mkfs.ocfs on the partitions, and mounted successfully on

stale dm-multipath mappings
Greetings,
I've hit this exact 'bug':
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=491311
I need to remove the mappings manually. I assume this is done via 'multipath
-F' followed by a 'multipath -v2' ? Has anyone experienced doing this on a
production system? We can do it during hours of low activity, but we would
prefer to keep the databases on this host online at

Upgrade to new drives in raid, larger
Hi all,
As part of my raid experience, I have yet to have to do this, but was
wondering how you guys would attempt it.
I have 3 drives in a raid 1, with one as a hot spare.
They are 250gb with all space used by two raid devices, 1 with boot, the
other with LVMs filling them up.
Now, lets say down the road I want to put in 500gb drives and replace
them....yikes.
I was thinking of taking out the

Scanning logical volumes
Reading all physical volumes. This may take a while...

Slightly OT: Debian and CentOS multiboot: menu.lst problem
Hi,
I want to slowly migrate from Debian to CentOS, so I setup a multiboot
on my main machine. There's a Debian Etch install on /dev/hda, and GRUB
is also installed on the Debian side.
On /dev/hdb, I have CentOS 5. I fdisked the drive manually, then chose
manual partitioning during install. The setup for CentOS is:
hdb1 -> swap
hdb2 -> /boot, ext2
hdb3 -> / , ext3

how to debug windows not starting
Hi all
I have a CentOS 5.1 x64 server, running Xen version 3.1.0-53.1.21.el5 &

After doing a software update in Windows (via Remote Desktop), I

how to downgrade from CentOS 5.2 to CentOS 5.1?
I've run into some trouble with a new cPanel VPS, and noticed that it's
running CentOS by default, installed via the CentOS http server.
My question is, how do I downgrade CentOS to 5.1?
