iSCSI root on Dom0
I am getting the following error on boot on a new install Centos 51:
#/bin/sh ro no such file or directory
then a kernel panic
I have traced it to the call ''switchroot'' in the init script in the initrd.
the exact same build without zen has no problems.
the boot messages look like:
Attaching to iSCSI storage
iscsistart: transport class version 2.0-724. iscsid version 2.0-865

CentOS 6.4 kickstart bonding
Hi all,
Someone played with kickstart bonding with centos 6.4 ?
CentOS 6.4, as upstream now support ifcae bonding in kickstart network section.
I've an issue with configuring a second bonding iface in kicstart on CentOS 6.4. The first bonding (bond0) works as espected but the second is not configured during installation. I've a 6 nic server (two for "puclic" network, two for

How to prevent installer using disk labels?
Is there any way, when installing CentOS (or any RH-based distro),
to prevent it from using disk labels in /etc/fstab and /boot/grub/grub.conf,
and to force it to just use the actual device names?
For testing purposes, I am installing two different CentOS versions in
different partitions, and am having to change from labels to device names
by hand, and re-label the disks, in order to avoid the

C6: kickstart problems with additional repo
Hi,
I'm kickstarting a vm in ESXi 5.1.
ks.cfg is on floppy, install media is ISO file.
This works great as long as I don't add an additional repo, in our case
it is vmware tools on one of our webservers.
If I add the repo line, anaconda asks then for the used network card and
indeed, switching to console the interfaces are still unconfigured.
Chosing eth0 in gui continues the

Strange problem with PRI on 64-bit?
I have some more investigation to do on this, but I wanted to see if anyone
here had any insight into the issue I've run into.
The hardware is a HP DL360 G6 with a TE420 gen 5 4-port T1 PRI card. It is one
of several systems that have been running without issue since 2010/2011. They
have all been running CentOS 4 32-bit with Zaptel 1.4.12.1 (with patch for gen
5 card), libpri 1.2.8 and

C6.5 - combine two DVD isos into one tree?
I have the two DVD isos for CentOS 6.5 mounted as loopback, on the mount
points /centos6 and /centos6a, and am trying to use them for PXE/KS
installation.
The problem I have is that the packages in /centos6a/Packages are not
found by the installer.
The host is a CentOS 5 system. Is there a way for me to overlay the second
DVD on the first without having to copy all the packages from both isos

Digium TE410P LED problem
Has anyone else experienced a problem with the LED for span 1 on a TE410P
or TE405P?
I had a TE410P on which the span 1 LED would not light red, but once the
span was connected, it did correctly light green.
I RMAed the board to our UK distrbutor and received a replacement. However,
the replacement board displayed the same problem!
Wondering if it was related to the computer I was putting it

How to detect whether running on VMware?
Does anyone know how a program, script or shell user can best determine
whether the machine is running on bare metal or is a VMware guest?

fail2ban with standard Apache log format?
I want to use fail2ban on CentOS 6 to monitor Apache with the standard
default logfile format ("combined"). Has anyone here succeeded in doing so?
The format has the IP at the start of the line, followed by two dashes
(if no authentication) and THEN the timestamp. What I've read on the
fail2ban wiki seems to say that the timestamp must ALWAYS be at the start
of the line, followed by

Background asynchronous AGI
I have been writing a lot of AGI programs in C with good success.
I would like somehow to have an AGI program continue in the background
while the pbx execution returns to the dialplan and continues. Is this
possible? I was thinking that perhaps I could fork or create another
thread within the AGI prog.
The reason I want to do so is in order to monitor external information
