[PATCH 2/3] drm/nv40/therm: reset temperature sensor on init
Current uninitialized sensor detection does not work for me on nv4b and
sensor returns crazy values (>190?C). It stabilises later, but it's too
late - therm code shutdowns the machine...
Let's just reset it on init.

Protection for removable hard drive
My apologies if this is a bit off topic...
I am going to start doing backups to removable hard drives and I will
need to send these hard drives to an off-site storage facility. I am
looking for some way to protect the drives after I pull them out of the
system. I was hoping to find some kind of clamshell enclosure similar
to what is used with external hard drives, but so far I haven't found

This was brought to my attention because one program was killed by the
kernel to free memory and another program failed because it was unable
to allocate

Server hangs initializing audio
I have a server that frequently hangs while rebooting. I see no
errors, but during the boot process it stops at this stage:
Initializing hardware... storage network audio
The cursor sits just after the word "audio" and I have to do a hard
reset to get out of it. This server has no audio capabilities, so I
am thinking that I just need to disable the audio stuff so it doesn't

boot from the second drive, is there any way to confirm that grub is
installed properly on the second drive?

Cleaning up smp kernels
I have used the package-cleanup utility to remove old kernel packages,
but I noticed that it only removes the 'kernel' and 'kernel-devel'
packages. It does not touch 'kernel-smp', 'kernel-hugemem', etc. What
is the recommended method of cleaning up these other kernel packages?
Should I just 'yum remove' the ones I don't need?
Some of my servers have a

xulrunner-devel dependencies
What's the deal with all of the new dependencies for xulrunner-devel in
the last update? I'm updating my servers and the update for
xulrunner-devel is forcing me to install 43 new packages! Is this a
packaging problem, or are all of those packages really needed?
For the moment, I've been removing xulrunner-devel from my machines to
avoid the problem. I figure since it is a

yum update conflict
I updated my i386 systems without any problems, but when I tried to
update one of my x86_64 systems, I got an error from yum.
Transaction Check Error: file /usr/include/libdevmapper.h from
install of device-mapper-1.02.02-3.0.RHEL4 conflicts with file from
package device-mapper-1.01.04-1.0.RHEL4
So it can't install the newer package because it conflicts with the
older package???

Command line mp3 player
I have a CentOS 7 server that I want to use as an audio source for our
hold music. It does not have a GUI installed, so I am looking for a
program with a command line interface that will let me play a folder
full of mp3 files on a continuous loop.
MOC seems to do what I want, but I can't find a build for CentOS 7. Is
there another program that I can use for this?
Thanks.

Linking against a specific Berkeley DB install
I sent this question to the OpenLDAP list yesterday, but I still haven't
seen the message come across the list. I am asking here in the hopes of
getting a faster response.
I am trying to compile OpenLDAP 2.3.11 from source on CentOS4. I have the
rpm for db4-4.2.52-7.1 installed and also a source build of BerkeleyDB in
/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.4.
How do I get OpenLDAP to link with the bdb
