xulrunner-devel dependencies
What's the deal with all of the new dependencies for xulrunner-devel in the last update? I'm updating my servers and the update for xulrunner-devel is forcing me to install 43 new packages! Is this a packaging problem, or are all of those packages really needed? For the moment, I've been removing xulrunner-devel from my machines to avoid the problem. I figure since it is a

Firefox error msg.
After my / disk seemed to be failing and found many files disappeared, I decided to remove it. I moved my other disk to it's place. Long story omitted. After installing my backup of /home and seeing firefox not restart, I started it from the command line with the immediate error: Could not find compatible GRE between version 1.9.0.5 and 1.9.0.5. I'm sorry, I'm at a complete loss.

fix firefox?
I once had firefox x86_64 installed (because it was the default). But that one has problems with plugins (flash, java), which are much easily solved by using the i386 version. So I unstalled firefox, and installed it again using: yum install firefox.i386 This worked, and even the plugins worked fine afterwards. I did have some problems when uninstalling, because yum insisted on a whole load

xulrunner-devel package missing many header files
Hi, I've just installed xulrunner-devel from yum, but there are following header files cannot be found in xulrunner-sdk-1.9/sdk/include: mozilla-config.h mozilla-config32.h prtypes.h The include/xulrunner-sdk-1.9 constains those above header files, I did link to them, but xulrunner-sdk-1.9/system_wrappers/prtypes.h has a problem as well: #pragma GCC system_header #pragma GCC visibility

Flash problems in newest upgrade?
Hi, I just upgraded to the newest kernel and Flash. Hulu now "grays out" when I try to go to full screen. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the proprietary video drivers (no difference either way), so I'm guessing it has something to do with either the new Flash or the new kernel. Anyone else experiencing this problem? Thanks for any pointers. -- RonB -- Using CentOS 5.5

gecko-libs dependency resurfaces
In doing an update of centos 5.2 this morning, I observed that the old gecko-libs dependency issue caused yum update to fail because it was required by nspluginwrapper (x64_86), devhelp, yelm and firefox. Also, a firefox (x64_86) showed the red hat splash screen rather than centos. Manual installation of affected rpms using --nodeps (I don't advise this) did not apear to impair the

Installing an *older* version of xulrunner (eg as a compatibility package)?
Is there a way of installing xulrunner-1.9 along side xulrunner-10.0? I have an application that wants the older version of xulrunner and does not seem to work with xulrunner-10.0. -- Robert Heller -- 978-544-6933 / heller at deepsoft.com Deepwoods Software -- http://www.deepsoft.com/ () ascii ribbon campaign -- against html e-mail /\ www.asciiribbon.org -- against

statd random port - sysconfig/nfs not taking effect
I have changed /etc/sysconfig/nfs to specify port numbers for NFS daemons. Somehow statd is still starting up at random port number. Other damons are starting at properly at specified port numbers Any clues on what might be wrong? Any other location/setting that takes precedence over sysconfig/nfs ? It's CentOS 5.5 64bit with nfs-utils 1.0.9-44.el5. -- Thanks, CS

xulrunner 1.9.0.19-1: Does it exist or what?
According to 'yum info xulrunner' version 1.9.0.19, release 1.el5_5 exists and is an available package. But when I try to update it, yum claims there is nothing to do and when I try a general update, yum complains that it cannot update firefox because it cannot find xulrunner >= 1.9.0.19-1. What is going on here? I am doing this on a desktop x86_64 system that I recently brought up

NetworkManager constantly overwriting /etc/resolve.conf - how to disable?
Hi all, I have a CentOS 5.4 server-only installation, i.e. no X installed, and for some odd reason /etc/resolve.conf gets overwritten by NetworkManager on a constant basis. I haven't been able to track down how often, but I think it's on the hour, or something. This is the conents of the file right now: # Generated by NetworkManager # No nameservers found; try putting DNS servers into

Upgrading CentOS 5.3 from local mirror
Good afternoon folks. Earlier today, I started upgrading a few of our servers to 5.4 based on input from the list. So far, all has gone well. I have about 6 servers (not very many, but still) that need to be upgraded. Instead of taking precious bits from the mirrors for each upgrade, I was curious if I could rsync the 5.4 directory from a local mirror, and configure yum to use that repo, if

Hi List, I have been getting the above errors for the last few months and extensive google foo has been less than conclusive - but indicates that the requesting flash player is somehow putting the wrong url content into the request. problem with udev when booting kernel 5.3 release 128.4.1
Hi List, I am running a 64 bit 5.3 kernel on an intel mb and all has been well. Today I thought it would be okay to reboot so that the latest kernel was running - i.e move from 128.2.1 to 128.4.1 release. The system passes POST fine, grub passes control to the 128.4.1 kernel and the boot process is under way. after some 30 secs the system starts beeping - continuously. After I hooked up a
