using a Laptop as a KVM console?
Hi all, Has anyone seen something like this before: I want to use a laptop as a KVM console. Basically when a technician goes to one of our datacentres, or clients he has to look for a free LCD, keyboard & mouse to connect to a server (no network access, reinstall, troubleshoot failed kernel / HDD, etc). And then hopefully there's an open power socker in that cabinet. So I'm

Hi all, Has anyone managed to get CentOS 6 domU (i.e. guest) working on a Debian 6 do0? Both OS''s are 32bit and I''m running XEN 4.0.1 with HVM support. A CentOS 5.6 domU works fine on this very same server though. When I start CentOS 6, I get the following error: newusaxen:~# xm create -c /xen/genocide.cfg Using config file "/xen/genocide.cfg". xenconsole: Could

What NAS device(s) do you use? And why?
If you use any NAS (or a SAN) devices, what do you use? And I''m referring more to larger scale network storage than your home PC or home theater system. We''ve had very good experiences with our NetGear ReadyNAS devices but I''m in the market for something new. The NetGear''s aren''t the cheapest ones around but they do what it says on the box. [CORRECTED] Postfix SMTP authentication on remote relay serve
Sorry about the previous post, I see the subject had a typo. So here's the correct one :) Does anyone know how to configure Postfix to use SMTP authentication on a relay host? i.e. I have a Linux server, running PostFix on an ADSL line with a dynamic IP. Thus I can't just send out emails from this server but need to relay it via our ISP's SMTP server, which is very unreliable. Now

Searchable Archives of this list
Is there a searchable archive of this list? Did I overlook something obvious? I can find the archives, but short of downloading all the monthly gzips and building my own searchable database, it seems my only other option is to go month by month looking at subjects and hope to stumble on what I'm after. Does anyone maintain a public searchable version of the archives? I've got

It looks great, but I have a couple of open questions such as - What softphones are recommended and provide Call Center level functionality? - What hardware (especially E1 (Euro S2M) class) are supported? I would like to search the list archives, but can't find a searchable archive. Can someone please point me into the right direction? Thanks. Regards,

layer 8 / user level firewall on linux?
Hi all, Does anyone know of a Linux firewall that offers layer 8 firewall / user level firewalling? Cyberoam (http://www.cyberoam.com/firewall.html) has a layer 8 firewall built into their UTM firewalls, and while it's a great product I find it a bit limited for what I want. I basically want to track which user access what on the internet, from an internal network. Ideally I want to limit
