Unloking gnome keyring on login
I hope someone can help me because I have spent a week on this and still I can't make it to work.
I have a CentOS 5.5 server and I am trying to set it up so that upon login the gnome default keyring is unlocked. I don't have a desktop as users will login using ssh only.
I have search the forum and google it, and I did find some help. All the articles though said to change /etc/pam.d/gdm

Automatically check into SVN?
I would like to automatically check in a directory to SVN, to maintain
the changes that area made to those txt files over time. These files are
configuration files, and it would be good to be able to revert back by
simply checking out the older versions. But I would to check in the
files every files minutes, and I'm sure SVN will not use up any disc
space, unless there are any changes.

need help with keyring
I should mention that I'm a total newbie with keyrings! I tried
searching for help sites - found 1, but I still have a problem. If there
is a website (or sites) that explain this, please post it (them)!
Ok, so I have a laptop with wifi, running CentOS 5.2. When I boot it, it
finds the nearby wifi signals, and tries to connect to mine. To do this,
it puts up a window to get my default

wifi and the default keyring
Hello.
I'm using my laptop (an Acer Aspire 3680, with built-in Atheros wifi). I
installed 5.2 on it, and it's working nicely. But, I have an issue with
the keyring. I should mention that this is my *first* experience with
keyrings.
When I set up the wifi, it stated basically that "nm-applet wants to
access the default keyring, but it's locked. Enter password." So I did.

gnome-keyring auto locking
Hey all,
I am preparing some workstations with C8/GNOME here and wonder if there
is a smart way to automatically lock the keyring after some defined time
(e.g 1800 seconds). The net suggests killing the gnome-keyring-daemon
process - not the smartest way. I can manually lock the keyring with
seahorse but this way doesn't scale very well :-)
Any hints?

I can''t see my app
Hello everybody,
I was able to set up Ruby 1.8.4 on Rails, using Apache 2.2.2 and MySql
5.0.22 and if you go to http://spagnolo.troccoli.it you have the nice
"Welcome abroad" page.
I have created a table (modes) with mysql
CREATE TABLE `modes` (
`id` INTEGER UNSIGNED NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT,
`description` VARCHAR(45) NOT NULL DEFAULT '''',
PRIMARY KEY(`id`)

Hello everybody.
I know, I know, another post about Apache 2, but I have looked a lot on

I have a Linux Fedora Core 5 box, with Apache 2.2.2 (compiled and
installed), Ruby 1.8.4 (compiled and installed), RubyGems 0.8.11

Using keyring on tinc
Hi all!
Is there any way to make tinc use keys from a keyring or similar?
I'm trying to find a way to manage multiple server, making it easier to
register a new user to the network.
Thanks!

Installing Postfix/Dovecot
I have just installed CentOS 5.1 on my home server and I am trying to
set a mail server.
I have diligently followed the instructions on the Wiki - How To on the
CentOS website (http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/postfix). However I cannot
send internal email (I haven't yet tried externally).
Do you have any suggestions on what to check? To test it I used two

Cartesian Product Of Character Vectors
Hi all
(I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I cant find it).
If I have two character vectors:
> x <- c("aaa","bbb","ccc")
> y <- c("1","2","3")
How can I get the cartesian product of the string values?

Gives me a data frame with separate columns...however, I cant seem to get *apply

Line color based on data values?
Hi all
Does anyone know if it is possible when plotting a line or scatter plot, to selectively color the data points based on the data value? i.e. if plotting say the percentage change in stock price movements, to color +ve points in green and -ve points in red? And extending this to a user-defined range of colors based on the quartile of the data points?
Thanks

Lexical Permutation Algorithm in R
Hi all
Here is a rather naive implementation of the SEPA algorithm for generating lexical permutations:
lexperm3 <- function(x, n=length(x)) {
perms <- list()
k <- 1
perms[[k]] <- x
k <- k + 1
for (y in 1:(factorial(n)-1)) {
i <- n-1
while (x[i] > x[i+1] && i > 0) {
i <- i - 1
}
# i is largest index st x[i] > x[i+1]
j <- n

Calculating sum of letter values
Hi all
If I have a string, say "ABCDA", and I want to convert this to the sum of the letter values, e.g.
A -> 1
B -> 2
etc, so "ABCDA" = 1+2+3+4+1 = 11
Is there an elegant way to do this? Trying something like
which(LETTERS %in% unlist(strsplit("ABCDA", "")))
is not quite correct, as it does not count repeated characters. I guess what I need is
