Updated livecd building tool
I updated the livecd-tools package from version 013 to 014. This update
introduces new interesting features like :
- support for Xen kernel
- built-in md5sum into the resulting LiveCD ISO
- a new API
See https://projects.centos.org/trac/livecd/wiki/GetToolset for
instructions on how to get this updated toolset.
Since it is a major update, I expect some bugs. I am looking for
feedback from

Re: FC22: virt-p2v-make-kickstart/livecd-creator doesn't build
I finally worked out what's going on with livecd-creator. It's
this bug:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1182362
and the workaround is trivial: just add 'tar' to the list of
packages in the kickstart. I will add this to the p2v.ks upstream
shortly.
I'm also building a 32 bit ISO based on Fedora 22 which will
go on the website later today (if it works).
Rich.

Hello,
I am trying to make a .iso to p2v some old windows servers, and I
installed a brand new FC22 server to build my images
I run
virt-p2v-make-kickstart fedora
livecd-creator p2v.ks
and I get the following error:
Installing: grubby ##################### [435/436]
Installing: uboot-tools ##################### [436/436]

how to use livecd-creator to create my own livecd iso as same as offical release iso?
Hello list,
I use the livecd-creator to customize my own livecd iso. I use the
kickstart config file from
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/CentOS/sig-core-livemedia/master/kickstarts/centos-7-livecd.cfg.
#livecd-creator -v --config centos-7-livecd.cfg --cache
/var/cache/livecd
finally I got a iso, but the iso is strange.
The offical distribution iso is

I meant to ask you about this. Do you need this because the hardware
is 32 bit only? If the hardware is x86-64 then you can use the 64 bit
virt-p2v ISO fine, even though the OS is 32 bit.
The reason we don't build 32 bit virt-p2v ISOs any more is because
since RHEL 7 we

I studied various contents on the internet a list of them below:

Just did a few searches, trying to find a redhat or centos 6.x livecd
iso, preferably an i686... but no joy. Maybe google's web crawlers
haven't found the page yet. Anybody here know where to find it?

Request for Wiki edit permission - booting into kickstart from all-in-one USB flash drive
I'm currently testing a process very similar to that found here:
http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey
And would like to update that doc with my observations once confirmed.
Preliminary notes (not all relevant to that specific WikiPage - suggestions
for where to put the non-kickstart info?

[PATCH] edit-livecd in python
This is the second generation of the edit-livecd tool that replaces our
original bash script with a python version and aims to reuse as much as
the livecd-creator libraries as possible. The main reason for the new
creator class is to avoid the need for a kisckstart file in order to
edit an existing livecd image.
edit-livecd is useful for people who don't have the development and yum

Questions on custom LiveCD
I tried making my own LiveCD according to the instructions on the project
site. First, applause, the basic procedure works like a charm. It's really
easy to do and works right from the beginning (I'm building it inside a
VM). I tried the minimal and the desktop version (with a few changes).
I have encountered a few problems and have some questions.
The German keyboard I set in the

Any way to initiate a kickstart from shell prompt?
Hi all,
I've set up a CentOS flash stick using the LiveCD tools, then dumping
that onto flash with a persistent overlay - instructions here:
http://wtf.geek.nz/?blog/2009/12/08/how-to-make-a-useful-centos-utility-flash-stick
This gets me to a prompt in which I can do recovery stuff, but I'm
curious to know if it's possible to initiate a kickstart install onto
the local disks from

edit-livecd
Greetings,
I made a Fedora AOS livecd ISO image using fedora-aos.ks (from fedora-kickstarts-0.12.1-1.fc12.noarch) and livecd-tools-031-1.fc12.1.i686.
This boots fine with qemu and directly from CD.
I used the script from http://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/livecd/attachments/20090922/85647312/attachment.py to edit the ISO image, and, even if I make no changes, I get the following error

totem: something wrong with gstreamer-plugins-ugly
When running totem to play a move (e.g. mpeg-1 file), it fails with the
message: "A MPEG-1 System Stream demuxer plugin is required to play this
stream, but not installed."
After reading docs and trying various things I've reduced the source of
the problem to the package gstreamer-plugins-ugly-0.10.11-1.el5.rf.i386.rpm
# rpm --rebuilddb
# rpm -q libdvdread
libdvdread-4.1.3-1.el5
