Problem with libkexiv2 ?
Hi, I'm currently installing a dozen CentOS 7 + KDE desktops in our local school. I've already installed a minimal X11 + WindowMaker, and now I want to install KDE on top of that, but the installation fails. There's some broken dependency in the repos. I've narrowed the problem down to the libkexiv2 package. Here's that I get. # yum install libkexiv2 ... --> Running

Problem with Digikam and libgphoto2 after latest update
Hi, I have CentOS 7 with KDE on my workstation. I'm using the CR repo. I had to remove Digikam to be able to do the latest update (1 GB of updates... wow). Here's what happens when I try to reinstall it. # yum install digikam ... --> Finished Dependency Resolution Error: Package: digikam-4.10.0-6.el7.x86_64 (epel) Requires: libgphoto2_port.so.10(LIBGPHOTO2_5_0)(64bit)

CentOS 7 missing package kio_mtp - required for digikam
Greetings, Has anyone installed digikam-4.0 with yum on CentOS 7? On my CentOS 7 machine "yum install digikam" fails. Apparently "kio_mtp" is not available: greg at tss20:~$ sudo yum install digikam Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, langpacks Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile * base: ftp.iij.ad.jp * epel: ftp.iij.ad.jp * extras: ftp.iij.ad.jp *

It looks like the problem is solved. I just installed Digikam, and it went fine, without any extra -compat packages. -- Microlinux - Solutions informatiques durables 7, place de

digikamimageplugins from Karan's repo
Hi, I've just installed digikam and digikamimageplugins from Karan's repo. The digikam package works nicely, however if I try to use any of the plugins from digikamimageplugins, digikam crashes complaining about unresolvable symbols, for example: digikam: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib64/kde3/digikamimageplugin_adjustlevels.so: undefined symbol:

gwenview WITHOUT nepomuk
Does anyone know how to make gwenview *not* try to use nepomuk? I liked it under 5.x, but in 6.x it *constantly* complains about things like tagging is not enabled... but won't open, when I log in, with gwenview running and showing the same picture I'd logged out on. Then there are the random crashes.... Don't need a "semantic" desktop, I know what things are, where they

Saving digikam photos for update to Centos 5
I will be installing Centos 5 soon and would like to know how to save my digikam photos from centos 4.4 for inclusion in the centos 5 digikam version. I have a external usb 2.0 hard drive to save the messages on. I know how to savethe messages on the hard drive. I am interested in knowing should I save the entire pictures directory or only the photos from my albums. I would greatly appreciate

digikam and mp3 sound on RHEL
Hi All; after years of running free Linux distros I've finally come to a place where I must have solid stability for my work laptop so I've purchased RHEL Workstation. I like it well enough - however I'd like to install digikam and get my system to play mp3's. I'm thinking I could get both of these from a centos repository. What do you'all think? If so, could

Can't get pictures off camera
Hi, I'm trying to download some pictures off my camera and I keep getting an error. This used to work at some point although I can't say when. The camera is a Cannon EOS and I plug it in to a USB port and turn it on and I get a dialog box with a title of "Cannon Digital Camera" saying "You have just inserted a medium with digital photos...blah blah...". CentOS for non-tech user
I'm thinking of giving CentOS to a non-tech user for her new desktop. He needs are small. She has been used to Mozilla for both mail and browsing, so equivalents there are not a problem. She needs grip and lame, for her mp3s - again no problem. In fact the only problem I can see is that gwenview doesn't appear to have the kipi-plugins. I can see libkipi listed, but no plugins,

Wine Opens Everything by Default
Hi, Recently after downloading Wine and trying to open files, Wine has been opening everything by default. For example, when I used to open Pictures it used to use one of Linux's image viewers like Gwenview. However, after downloading Wine it's been using Wine, then opens up Internet Explorer, and then opens up the picture. The same goes for text files. When I try to open a text file,

Graphical frontend for gphoto2? (Handling photo cameras in XFCE)
Hi, I'm using CentOS 5.1 with the latest XFCE-4.4 desktop. I try to stick as much as possible to the UNIX tools philosophy, one app per task. For viewing images, I installed GQView. But right now, I wonder what I could probably use for handling photo imports from digital cameras. GThumb tends to be very unmodular, e. g. drawing in many GNOME dependencies, and besides that, I already have
