to <cr> or not
I have had some success (read no noticed problems), moving some text conf files from a Win <cr,lf> format to Linux and have them work. For example my zone files, moving them from my Win DNS server. But what about other files? I guess I want to know this more to prevent a mistake from crashing things, as I do have GEDIT. If I were to build an anaconda-ks.cfg in notepad, write it to a

Wysiwyg html editor for note taking
I am looking for a wsyiwyg html editor for note taking as I build up a system to note what I am doing. I typically just use gedit, but this system's notes are getting complex, and using code tabs, lists, and the like would make it more enduring. I am looking at lonote on my F17 notebook, but I would like to do the note taking directly on the Centos system. Just basic html. Image

Re: TextMate Bundle using Gedit
For what I know you can''t use the TM bundles... But like mgutz pointed there''s a lot of plugins. There is some alternatives to achieve something like TM bundles. Look at this links: - GMate - http://github.com/lexrupy/gmate/ (http:// alexandredasilva.wordpress.com/gmate/) - gedit-rails - http://github.com/mig/gedit-rails/ Think that GMate is the most complete. I use these as

Outliner plugin for editor
Thank you. Ideally, however, I would like to continue using Geany or gedit. I have found a "gnome outliner" on the 'net but that seems not have been updated for a very long time... Outliner plugin for editor
I am currently running not only Geany (on CentOS and on Windows) but also Gedit on CentOS, much of the use is as markdown-editors being a recent convert to this language. I would, however, also like to be able to essentially use it as an outliner - remember the old DOS outliners that were great for creating document outlines? It would have been perfect had I been able to fold and unfold sections

gWidgets (tcltk): problem extracting values from widgets in glayout grid
Hello, I haven't been able to find an example for the second case below -- or perhaps I didn't recognize it when I saw it. Is there a value for x such that svalue(x) will return "bbb", either by itself or as part of an array? Or do I need to do something else entirely? Odd characters at beginning of file
I'm use RPostgreSQL to access data on a Postgres server. I would like to keep my SQL statements in external files, as they're easier to write and debug in pgAdmin, then I use readLines to bring them into R and feed to dbGetQuery. Here's the problem. When I create a SQL script with pgAdmin, then load it in R, the ensuing script fails when I feed it to dbGetQuery. When I inspect the

Plugins for R and more...
Hello! I saw this discussion regarding vim plugin for R and just wonder if there exists something similar for Gedit. I use Debian and I really like Gedit. I know a lot of plugins but not for R. Another thing is a bit stupid cause I know there has been discussion about repositories for R. I recently converted a friend from Windows to Debian and he is confused should he use: deb

Slow Printing HP-2025dn
Hey All, You know how sometimes you have a problem but you just live with it? Well I've got one of those problems. I have an HP-2025dn printer connected to my home network. When I print a plain text document containing the text, "this is a test", from my wife's Windows 7 machine using the text editor the print job finishes in less than 15 seconds. If I print two copies the

Full_Name: Vaidotas Zemlys Version: 2.1.1 OS: Ubuntu 05.10 Submission from: (NULL) (213.197.173.50) Hi, This is really a feature request, not a bug. I wrote the mail to R-devel, but nobody answered it. I use Gnome on my computer and sometimes I use its default text editor gedit. It uses gtksourceview library for syntax highlighting. I decided that it would be nice if gedit supported R

R GUI ???
Hello ! I am really happy to find this list. I am not new to R but to Debian or Linux in general. Up to now I used R on MS Windows but now I want to use R on Debian lenny. I have absolutely no experience with Debian. I was able to install R 2.11 on my system using the instruction in the readme on CRAN. I can open R in the shell. On windows I used R with the R GUI or with Tinn-R. Is there the

Duplicate *.desktop entries for GNOME in /usr/share/applications
Hi, Today I noticed something strange. There seem to be a series of duplicate desktop menu entries in /usr/share/applications. Example: gedit.desktop and org.gnome.gedit.desktop Other example: nautilus.desktop and org.gnome.Nautilus.desktop This is annoying, since I usually edit some custom menu entries for my users. Now, if I edit both files for a single application, I end up with duplicate

Printing problem
Hi. I've been running CentOS 4 since it was released (since 4.0). I did a fresh install and have kept it updated using up2date and yum so at present my system is running CentOS 4.2. I mostly use my system as a super-user and so I can mostly do everything without worrying too much about permissions. Not too long ago I created a "general" user account which is automatically logged
