mdmonitor not triggering program on fail events
Hi, Can anyone help me with this since I want to get it done "the correct way" I'm trying to make mdmonitor to execute a program when it detects a fail event automatically. Currently, from what I see, init is calling mdmonitor with these options mdadm --monitor --scan -f (note that the --program is not there) and this is in my /etc/mdadm.conf MAILADDR root PROGRAM

Software RAID CentOS4
Hi, I have a system with two IDE controllers running RAID1. As a test I powered down, removed one drive (hdc), and powered back up. System came up fine, so powered down installed a new drive (hdc) And powered back up. /proc/mdstat indicatd RAID1 active with hda only. I thought it would Auto add the new hdc drive... Also when I removed the new drive and added The original hdc, the swap partitions

Race condition with mdadm at bootup?
Hello folks, I am experiencing a weird problem at bootup with large RAID-6 arrays. After Googling around (a lot) I find that others are having the same issues with CentOS/RHEL/Ubuntu/whatever. In my case it's Scientific Linux-6 which should behave the same way as CentOS-6. I had the same problem with the RHEL-6 evaluation version. I'm posting this question to the SL mailing list

Some RAID-6 observations ... RHEL-6 vs CentOS-5.5
Hello all, In the process of building a new VM box to replace several individual CentOS servers, I've had the "interesting" experience of running both CentOS-5.5 and RHEL-6 (eval copy) as I build out the hardware based on a Supermicro motherboard. A couple of observations regarding RAID-6: - RAID-6 arrays created on RHEL-6 don't seem backward compatible with CentOS-5.5.

userdb username changed
Hi! I'm playing with a postfix + dovecot + mysql test setup, and noticed something strange. It seems that despite the "username changed" line, auth returns the original username: Apr 17 09:27:34 imap21 dovecot: quota-status: Debug: Loading modules from directory: /usr/lib64/dovecot (...) Apr 17 09:27:34 imap21 dovecot: auth-worker(27661): Debug: sql(ppp at example.net): SELECT

OT: a very big problem with ipsec-tools on CentOS5 (SOLVED)
Buf ... Solved. Problem was that /etc/pam.d/racoon doesn't exists (I found this tip on NetBSD ipsec pages). Simply I have copied /etc/pam.d/passwd to /etc/pam.d/racoon and now all works as expected. Many thanks for your help Ross. Ross S. W. Walker wrote: > > I think it might just use another one like /etc/pam.d/remote > cause I audited the package and it wasn't there.
