CentOS on Dell Inspiron 640m laptop
I ordered and just received today a new Dell Inspiron 640m laptop (it also goes by the name E1405). Anyone tried installing CentOS on this laptop? It's the wireless drivers I'm most concerned about; it's got the Dell 1390 internal wireless card (not the Intel wireless). Anyone have some feedback, on the wireless or any other issues, on running CentOS on this laptop? Thanks Paul

the difference between temp and .temp
Hi everyone - This came up within the last day -- Jim's response to Deepankar is pasted below. There are probably lots of reasons, but what is the advantage to using .temp over, say, temp? I often find myself writing temporary objects -- should I use the . preface? What would be the advantages to doing so? Thanks in advance for what will surely be a collection of illuminating responses.

I just looked in /tmp on the server and there are over 10,000 ruby_sess.* temp files containing: " hash{" flashIC:''ActionController::Flash::FlashHash{: @used{ They''ve piled up so much that I can''t even rm -f ruby*. I?ve changed permissions till I?m blue in the face and can not get this program to clean up it?s temp files. Whenever a user goes back into a drawing they get permission denied on the temp files. Fonts generated and read form temp dir
Hi, I'm one of the user of this app (http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?iVersionId=4154&mode=nested#Comment-13738). Users noticed that the soft generates (or extracts) fonts and uses them on the fly from a temp directory. Is there any way for wine to handle this type of behaviour ? Thanks. Dripple.

cl : Command line error D8037 : cannot create temporary il file; clean temp directory of old il files
I installed VS Express and included the IDE in $LIB. It looks like wine is able to run 'cl.exe' but 'cl.exe' itself has a problem. We've tried a number of variations of setting %TMP% and %TEMP% to no avail. Any ideas. TIA.
