Xen pci passthru problems with kernel -164.6.1
Hi there, After updating a server from CentOS 5.3 to 5.4 my Xen pci-passthru setup has some troubles. The server has two NICs, one used by dom0 and the other assigned to a domU and one SCSI controler assigned to another domU. It has been working fine since CentOS 5.1, when I did the initial setup. After upgrading to 5.4, I get this error when starting the domU with one of the NICs assigned:

Unknown boot option `pciback.hide=(09:04.0)': ignoring
Good morning, I need to use pciback.hide to hide a pci card because I want to pci passthrough that card to a domU. My hardware neither supports Intel-Vt-d nor AMD's IOMMU. Unfortunately this doesn't seem to work in Centos 54 anymore. I guess it doesn't work because it is not compiled into the kernel, but as a module. I got the following error in dmesg and the pci device is still

Migrating from KVM to XEN - kernel panic
First let me say that I'm not a sysadmin, but am simply wearing that hat this week so please excuse my ignorance. I need to temporarily move some virtual servers from a CentOS-KVM platform to a CentOS-XEN platform while I do some upgrades to the CentOS box. I've created a local LV, and used DD and SCP to transfer the block device from the VKM machine to the XEN machine. For quite a

I am currently using a Dell PowerEdge server R610 with Xen 4.0 installed and the 2.6.31.13 pvops kernel. I am accessing the server console using the iDRAC KVM feature of the dell management console. Does anyone know how to configure the console option in the grub menu so that all the boot messages can be seen on the mgmt console? Currently I can view only the Xen bootup messages if I dont specify

What kernel source and how to download it
Hi all, I am running CentOS 5.3 under xen on a VPS machine (so I have a limited control on the machine) I am playing with openswan and KLIPS and I need to build the ipsec.ko kernel module. Is it safe to run only the XEN kernel on dom0 host?
Hi, I have an issue with my XEN servers, in that when I do a yum upgrade, it upgrades the kernels, and then updates the grub.conf file to boot with the normal Linux kernel, and not the XEN kernel - and I tend to forget to update the grub.conf, until I reboot and see XEN isn't running. So, is it safe to remove the normal kernel & kernel-development, and only run the XEN kernel? This is

On CentOS 5.4, Linux 2.6.18-164.6.1.el5 #1 SMP Tue Nov 3 16:18:27 EST 2009 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux In man 2 send I find: The send() call may be used only when the socket is in a connected state (so that the intended recipient is known). The only difference between send() and write() is the presence of flags. With zero flags parameter, send() is equivalent to
