Policy routing with IPFW
Hi There,
I've been having an issue trying to figure out a way to policy route
outbound packets from a multihomed machine through the proper interface
using IPFW to no avail.
I've tried several different incantations of IPFW fwd/forward
statements, and none of them seem to do the trick.
Basically, I have a host that has multiple Internet connections. This
host is running FreeBSD 4.9

ipfw question
Dear All.
I want to use 'not' for 2 addresses (for both) in ipfw2 rule.
The only way that looks like what I need is
# ipfw add count from IP1 to not IP2,IP3
But does this rule indeed makes what I want? Does it count all
packets destined to addresses other then IP2 AND IP3?!
No other syntax works.
For example more logically correct
not IP2 AND not IP3
or even
not { IP2 or IP3 }

in relation to "Routing for multiple uplinks/providers".
I''m wanting to do a similar setup to the diagram where I have - lets just
say for the moment - two uplink providers where I want to route over two

multiple links and nat
Hi, this might be a dumb question, but I''m not finding much
information online.
I''m trying to setup a 2.6 linux box to run nat across multiple
upstream links as a simple way to aggregate bandwidth. I found the
instructions in lartc section 4.2
(http://lartc.org/howto/lartc.rpdb.multiple-links.html) fairly clear
and straightforward. I implemented those, and a couple of trivial

Have you checked if "hosts allow" in combination with "access based
share enum" does what you want?

Problem with routing for multiple uplinks/providers using iproute2
hi all,
we were trying to configure our system with 2 ethernet catds connected to two different providers using iproute2 so that it recieves and transmits data from both of them. We have followed the configuration as given on lartc''s howto
But the most wierd part of the story is that after we restart the system (We have put the script in rc.local) the system works fine and we can ping

At office, we have I ISPs.
I want to lightly monitor each link latency in order to decide several
routing.
For that, I have only one external server: 1 IP, it's an OVH dedicated
server.
The quick picture is http://s24.postimg.org/n3436z64l/defaul_route.png
Default route is via ISP1.
If OVH-server pings IP1:
- the request will go through ISP1: it's OK
- the reply will go through

Load Balancing Problems

I have a router that got its second link. I was trying to do load

Just one link works at time, and is always the second in the command ip
route add default table 222 proto static.
Am I missing something? My script is below. I am using Debian, tried
with kernel 2.6.19 (my compilation) or debian''s one (2.6.18-3-486),

outside ssh connection from two different ISP's
I have both cable and dsl service. The router attached to the cable service is 192.168.0.1 and the router attached to the dsl service is 192.168.0.254. I determine which service my computers communicate through by setting the gateway assignment to either of those addresses and it just works.
I can connect to my computers from the outside by port forwarding from my routers to the computer that I

Load Balance simply doesn´t work...
i´ve been searching for a load balance solution since a month
ago... what i can say is that it simply doesn´t work. I was
unable to find one guy that did it with sucess. When "load
balance" is the subject of the message on the list, the
message is simply ignored.
So... if it doesn´t work... why LARTC don´t delete it from the
