trouble with chm files
Hi,
I have been trying to configure Wine to associate kchmviewer with chm files in hopes of having kchmviewer launch whenever I push a help button within SkyTools 3 (http://www.skyhound.com). I am running Wine 1.3.18 under Ubuntu 10.10 on an amd64 machine. I followed the instructions in the Wine FAQ at
http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#head-91bf3f0a8ccbfab8dee96f82fae2f1a489e0d243

help! error in creating a new domain
Maybe this question is a little stupid, but please help me. I am a newbie
to Xen.
When I tried to create a new domain "domain 1", I followed the Yan-Ching
CHU''s guide on :installing quick file systems for new domains in Xen 1.2".
But when I do "xc_dom_create.py -Dvmid=1", Xen seems to start to boot with
some normal bootup information, but right after several

Problems monitoring Mongrel with F5 BigIP
If this has already been covered, please point me to that (I didn''t find
anything in my searches)...
We are using F5 BigIP LTM load balancers. They have many pools of Mongrels
they load balance across, and I of course want the F5 to know when a Mongrel
goes down or is unavailable, etc. To do that, I need to have an F5 health
monitor for HTTP make a request to the Mongrel. We do this

iSCSI root
As promised, here''s what I did to get iSCSI root running under XenU under Debian 3.1 (Sarge):
Be running linux 2.6 under XenU.
Build XenU with SCSI disk support (I did them as modules)
Get linux-iscsi 4.0.1.8 from http://sourceforge.net/projects/linux-iscsi/
Build it according to the instructions there (i found it a bit tricky) and install under your XenU

/proc/xen/memory_target patch
This patch to the balloon driver eliminates the need for a user-space
program to slosh memory between domains and xen. This uses a proc
file at /proc/xen/memory_target. When read it reports memory the domain
owns in bytes. Writing a new value to the memory_target proc file
will cause the domain to exchange memory with xen to reach the target.
A xenolinux domain cannot grow bigger than it was

deployment survey
Hello Mongrels,
Building on the last messages about Fastthread, can we get a detailed
survey of the different ways people are deploying their applications?
It will help with near-future Mongrel development.
Please include the following things:
* Framework, if any (Camping, Merb, Rails, Nitro, Ramaze, IOWA, Rack...)
* Mongrel version
* Mongrel handlers used (rails, dirhandler, camping,

FreeBSD 8.2 XENHVM Kernel on Xencloud
Good afternoon,
The subject practically is saying what I''m trying to ask but... does
anyone tried FreeBSD 8.2 or similar under Cytrix Xenserver or XenCloud?. I
have been doing some benchmarks and seems to perform pretty nice... and
seems to be
stable too; the only thing would be nice to be available for FreeBSD at
Xenserver/Xencloud would be the Xenserver/Xencloud''s

Postfix vs. Thunderbird on Mac OS
Hi,
I'm running our local school's mail server on CentOS 7, Postfix and
Dovecot. We get quite a lot of spam, so I have the following sender

GlusterFS as underlying Replicated Disk for App Server
Hi All,
We have a requirement for a common replicated filesystem between our two
datacentres, mostly for DR and patching purposes when running Weblogic
clusters.
For those that are not acquainted, Weblogic has a persistent store that it
uses for global transaction logs amongst other things. This store can be
hosted on shared disk (usually NFS), or in recent versions within an Oracle
DB.

Mapping usernames
Dear all
I am trying to configure samba username map file in order to map the
same user from a windows domain to 2 different unix users:
Map to = map from
bea = PRODUCTION\garcijo
mpcadmin = PRODUCTION\garcijo
but only works for the first map in the map file. When I try to use a
share with permissions for mpcadmin unix user, I realize that smbd takes
the first map (bea user) and

Hello All,
I was wondering how I can get the overall Pearson chi^2 test of model fit
with its df and p value in the LTM package for the 2PL models.
Thanks,

Inserting weights in ltm package
Afternoon R help,
I want to run Rasch/IRT analyses using the ltm package, however, I am
using large scale survey data which requires weighting for accurate
results. I attempted to create a weighted object to insert into the
formulae of the ltm packages, however, the survey data only includes
30 replicate weights and a sampling weight. The svrepdesign requires
additional information such as

ltm: Simplified approach to bootstrapping 2PL-Models?
Dear R-List,
to assess the model fit for 2PL-models, I tried to mimic the
bootstrap-approach chosen in the GoF.rasch()-function. Not being a
statistician, I was wondering whether the following simplification
(omit the "chi-squared-expressed model fit-step") would be appropriate:
GoF.ltm <- function(object, B = 50, ...){
liFits <- list()
for(i in 1:B){

gluster and HA NFS
Hello.
After working with the 3.12 flavor of gluster I learned nfs-ganesha was
replaced with storhaug in 3.11.Have people been successfully utilizing
storhaug and does any documentation exist for using it in a ha nfs
configuration or is ha in gluster so rarely used it's a non-issue for
most gluster users?
Going through the lists, it was recommended in November to not use
storhaug and if

Is there something like MAMP, but uses PostgreSQL instead? I found a

Thanks,

¿Alguna idea?

factor.scores
The function factor.scores is used with package ltm and others to estimate IRT type scores for various models. It inherits objects of class grm, gpcm and a few others. What I would like to do is to use the factor.scores function, but feed it my own item parameters (from a bifactor model where the 2PL parameters are adjusted for the bifactor structure). Does anybody have an idea of how this might
