Apache: confusion about virtual hosts and DNS on a local network
Hi, I set up a webserver with Apache on one of the machines on the local network. There's a DNS configured for the LAN, with a dummy domain name (presbytere.local), and every machine is pingable by its hostname. The webserver runs on the machine 'buildbox'. The webserver actually has two (static) websites on it, for testing and fiddling purposes. Each site's pages are stored

SSL and virtual hosts?
Hi, I successfully managed to use SSL on a local webserver for testing purposes, following the section "Using SSL" in the Chapter "Using Apache" of the "Definitive Guide to CentOS". Now I wonder: how can I use SSL with virtual hosts? I have several virtual hosts defined. Let's say I want to use SSL with this one: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerAdmin info

Can't find SRPMS for CentOS
Hi, I have to rebuild a handful of CentOS packages for some extra functionality. So I setup a build environment in a virtual machine, and right now I'm trying to find the SRPMS. I enabled the repositories listed in /etc/yum.repos.d/CentOS-Sources.repo and then tried this: [microlinux at buildbox:~] $ yumdownloader --source ark Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, langpacks, priorities Enabling

trying to get the debug version of httpd so I can use it in conjunction with gdb.
I am trying to get the debug version of httpd so I can use it in conjunction with gdb. I am having a hard time getting them, and they don't seem to be in the standard epel-debuginfo repository. What should I do? > [root at buildbox-rhel6 ~]# debuginfo-install httpd Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, presto enabling epel-debuginfo Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile

Hardening production servers
Greetings, Apologies if this is not the appropriate list, but my questions are about best practices in maintaining production servers (so I believe I can justify a post in -stable, short of a -release list :) I maintain a modest installation of 6 FreeBSD servers. They're CVSUP'd to RELENG_4_8 (I make buildworld on each individually) and I portupgrade ports as necessary. In an attempt to

Does cdr adaptive odbc re-connect automatically after a long idle time?
Hi all, I use astersk 11.7.0 on Ubuntu 12.04.01 TLS (i386). I use cdr_adaptive_odbc to write CDR to my MySQL's cdr table. After my testing, this scenario is working well. After a long idle time, I didn't make any call to the asterisk server. When I try to make a call again after 8 hours, I found that the cdr lost. It cannot be inserted to cdr table. Also, I could not find the insert CDR

Sort logfiles on common lines?
I have a huge mysql.log file full of errors. I'd like to sort it by the most common line, and work from there. I did go through the manpage for sort, and googled a bit, but I found nothing relevant. Here is an example of the output: [root@ log]# tail mysqld.log 110925 11:05:35 [ERROR] /usr/libexec/mysqld: Incorrect key file for table './ox_data_summary_ad_hourly.MYI'; try to repair it

[LLVMdev] DataStructure Analysis ds-aa can not stop when passing mysqld
Quoting Chris Lattner <clattner at apple.com>: Dear staff, I am using the ds-aa to pass mysqld. I compile mysqld 4.0.12 statically (compile all libraries statically to the executable) and got the bc file, named it as mysqld.bc3. I use the command to pass: opt -load <poolalloc install dir>/lib/libLLVMDataStructure.so -ds-aa mysqld.bc3 -print-alias-sets -disable-output
