Problem with OpenSSH 2.3.0p1 and Linux kernel 2.4.1pre8 (Disconnecting: fork failed: Resource temporarily unavailable)
I'm having a problem with OpenSSH 2.3.0p1 and Linux kernel 2.4.1pre8. After a client connects and is authenticated ssh fails to fork, disconnects and dies. Normally I run sshd out of inetd with the -i flag. thinking this might be the problem I ran it in daemon mode from the command line. The results were the same. Running with maximum debugging on I captured the following: <snip>

Cannot start SSH at boot
On a particular CentOS 6 install, I must start SSH manually: # /etc/init.d/sshd start I have tried to configure it to start automatically: # chkconfig --level 3 sshd on However, it still must be manually started. I am not getting any errors. What might be preventing it from starting? Thanks. -- Dotan Cohen http://gibberish.co.il http://what-is-what.com

setuid(5000) failed: Resource temporarily unavailable
I have combed google for days searching for an answer to this but cannot find anything anywhere, I'm hoping that posting to this list will get me the solution. I have FC4 running dovecot v1.0.beta7 to serve my POP3 (I had to install v1.0.beta7 because it's on a x86_64 and I need mysql support). It runs great for about two hours, after which I start getting the resource

Fatal: write(indexer) failed: Resource temporarily unavailable
Hello I have this issue for Xapian plugin: https://github.com/grosjo/fts-xapian/issues/62 But I am not sure where can it comes from. Is dovecot calling some specific function in the plugin after the init, that would create such error ? In doveadm dealing differently with plugins that dovecot core does ? Has there been some recent changes in the plugin framework that would lead to such
