Dell OptiPlex GX620 can longer boot from CD with syslinux-5.X
Same CD. Any Linux distribution without the 5.X series boots on this machine. We can use 4.06 and it boots just fine. It's not the computer's hardware. Like I said, we can take the CD out of the GX620 and place it in the 9010 and it boots. Put 4.06 on the CD, and they both boot. Dell Optiplex GX620 keyboard problem
Hello, I'm interrested in testing any possible workaroud for the Dell Optiplex GX620 keyboard problem, as I just can't downgrade the BIOS version on each and every Gx620 I have to (re)install ! (Plus I can't find a link to download the old A10 BIOS itself.) Don't hesitate to give me guidance on how to proceed, because I can't find anything relevant on the website

iPXE chain to lpxelinux.0 6.03 inconsistencies and failures
On this list in early July 2014 I reported that on certain hardware one cannot chain from ipxe to lpxelinux.0 . My report at the time was about 6.03-pre17. I've repeated the tests with the release version of 6.03 and here is an updated report with more details. I boot to a USB stick with iPXE, which then is told to "dhcp" and then "chain http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/pxe.0".

CentOS 5.3 LDAP problem.
I currently have about eight servers running a mixture of CentOS x86_64 v5.2 and v5.3 but none with the very latest updates. They all obtain their authentication information over LDAP and to avoid the starting message bus hang problem[1], nscd is set to soft failure. However, yesterday I set up a new CentOS v5.3 server with the latest updates, but it refuses to get beyond "Starting message

Video driver for ThinkPad T61 laptop?
Hi. Any suggestions how I can get a video driver for my ThinkPad T61 laptop? Tracking down severe regression in 5.3-rc4/5.4 for TU116 - assistance needed
Hi, I've encountered a severe regression in TU116 (probably also TU117) introduced in 5.3-rc4 (valid also for recent 5.4.2) [1]. The system usually hangs on the subsequent graphic mode related operation (calling xrandr after login is enough) with the following error: > kernel: nouveau 0000:01:00.0: fifo: SCHED_ERROR 08 [] ... > kernel: nouveau 0000:01:00.0: DRM: failed to idle channel

X server crashes when I fire up "Display" or "Screen Resolution" control panels
Hi. I've just installed CentOS 5.4 on my IBM T61 laptop. By default, I get the same image (duplicate screens) on the laptop's LCD and on the external monitor; I want to set up separate screens but my X server crashes when I start "Display" or "Screen Resolution" control panels or press Function-F7 which is supposed to bring up the single screen/ multiple screens

Tracking down severe regression in 5.3-rc4/5.4 for TU116 - assistance needed
Hi Marcin, You should do a git bisect rather than guessing about commits. I suspect that searching for "kernel git bisect fedora" should prove instructive if you're not sure how to do this. Tracking down severe regression in 5.3-rc4/5.4 for TU116 - assistance needed
The obvious candidate based on a quick scan is 0acf5676dc0ffe0683543a20d5ecbd112af5b8ee -- it merges a fix that messes with PCI stuff, and there lie dragons. You could try building that commit, and if things still work, then I have no idea (and you've narrowed the range). Also I'd recommend ensuring that the good kernel is really good and the bad kernel is really bad -- boot them a few
