Time synchronization issue
Hello Andrey Thanks for the trick. I'll try it. But it's a pity it doesn't work natively, right ? 2015-04-22 14:08 GMT+02:00 Andrey Repin <anrdaemon at yandex.ru>: > Greetings, William LIM! > > > Hi, > > > I have set a Samba AD DC on my network. Time synchronization issue
Hi ! Actually, problem was located on client side, not samba side. w32time has "disappeared" from services list (!) the w32tm /unregister and w32tm /register solve the problem My clients seem to be correctly synchronised with my AD DC now. If i find out why w32time has disappeared, I'll post a message here. Thank you for your help ! 2015-04-22 16:02 GMT+02:00 Andrey Repin

Update on "non-dying" nx connections over unreliable network
Dear Sirs & Madams: Thank you so much for your help. To remind, my situation is a wireless connection that is unreliable, where: (a) upon disconnect, !M's nxclient does not recognize connection death (b) after I manually kill nxssh and reconnect, reconnection takes some time. My idea: intercept myself in between NX client and server - detect connection drop, and reconnect. This is

p2p streaming?
I'm new here, and I hope this isn't too flaky for the list. I've been thinking about whether or not it's possible to combine p2p techniques with streaming media to reduce the load on the server that's originating the feed. It seems like an obvious idea, so I doubt it's new. But I haven't seen anything that suggests that anyone's working on it. The win from this

SER / IAX solution
I find IAX connection with FWD very unreliable so I think I'll have to roll out my own "SIP Express Router" as I want to communicate with few SIP clients. So I hope this the right solution. I'm new to "SER" and to my understanding "SER is like a "road-map" it tells the SIP Clients where they are so they can communicate directly with each other without

geo-replication loops
Hi, I was thinking about a common (I hope!) use case of Glusterfs geo-replication. Imagine 3 different facility having their own glusterfs deployment: * central-office * remote-office1 * remote-office2 Every client mount their local glusterfs deployment and write files (i.e.: user A deposit a PDF document on remote-office2), and it get replicated to the central-office glusterfs volume as soon

kernel oplocks (G) For UNIXs that support kernel based oplocks (currently only IRIX but hopefully also Linux and FreeBSD soon) this parameter allows the use of them to be turned on or off. Kernel oplocks support allows Samba oplocks to be broken whenever a local UNIX process or NFS operation accesses a file that smbd has oplocked. This allows complete data

mailbox encryption
Hello, Thanks, I think I have it. The message files the u5 and u6 files are showing up as data, and they sure look encrypted to me. One thing is there a way to get logging of output of the mail_crypt module? What I'm wanting to have if possible is a user gets a message, the logs show message being encrypted, then stored to disk? Thanks. Dave. On 6/17/19, Aki Tuomi <aki.tuomi at

GSM ISDN gateway to quadbri NT port under bristuffed Asterisk - where to set gain (I have unreliable inband dtmf recognition )?
Hi, I'm getting unreliable dtmf recognition (it works fine for 4-5 digits, errors (duplicates) on more), when transferred inband from gsm gateway to NT port of quadbri under bristuffed Asterisk..... Since Asterisk is claimed to have good dtmf recognizer, I suspect there are some settings to workarouned... I've tried dtmf relax, but didn't help, so I suspect gain settings.... Is

Oplocks Usage Recommendations Whitepaper (with attachment)
Here is Oplocks Usage Recommendations Whitepaper for Samba on HP-UX (originally was written for CIFS/9000 Server on HP-UX). Note that the intended audience is/are HP-UX customers who have questions and concerns about when to configure oplocks. This is intended as a rudimentry guide to help avoid the most obvious oplock pitfalls. Hopefully the plain text alignments hold up well for most editors.

Dealing with an unreliable remote
(until a better answer comes along) The killed rsync process should leave a temporary file .<file-name>.<random> If you rename the temporary to the real file name, rsync should continue from about where it left off. -----Original Message----- From: rsync-bounces at lists.samba.org [mailto:rsync-bounces at lists.samba.org] On Behalf Of net.rsync at io7m.com Sent: Tuesday, November 25,
