ISPConfig with Rails?
Does anybody have experience configuring a server running the ISPConfig
control panel to work with Rails?
I''m about to embark on this... I''d appreciate any feedback or advice
from anyone who has already done it!
Thanks,
Scott Becker

Apache2 + ISPConfig + Ruby on Rails
Hi
I''m trying to get ruby running on a Debian Linux server with ISPConfig
and Apache.
I have tried many tutorials like:
1. http://www.howtoforge.com/ruby_on_rails_apache2_fastcgi_debian_p6
2.

ISPConfig & local administration
Hi list,
I recently installed a package for Centos5.2 called ISPConfig. This
was recommended by a buddy of mine who hosts a number of websites for
various clients. Although I don't host any websites except my own,
there were some features in the package that I did like the looks of.
Well, today, I needed to add a new user and group, so while the machine
was sitting here, I

Disabling stock firewall and SELinux for ISPConfig
I have been reading a tutorial on configuring and securing a CentOS 6.2 machine:
http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect-server-centos-6.2-x86_64-with-apache2-ispconfig-3-p3
This tutorial bases the configuration on an application called
ISPConfig. I am not sure that I like the idea of disabling the stock
firewall and SELinux as the tutorial suggests, even with all the
troubles that SELinux has given me

IMAP Dovecot with ISPConfig and shared folders?
Fedora 5, postfix, dovecot, ISPConfig server all
running well, (don't want to break it) LOL. But, I do
not have IMAP shared folders.
These instructions on dovecot tell of how to setup
namespace to be able to get shared folders.
http://wiki.dovecot.org/SharedFolders
But given everything is relative in ISPConfig, not
sure if this is possible or if I could really mess
things up.
What tells

ISPConfig: Secure on Centos?
Just wanted to see if this tool was approved or disapproved of in the
centos community as far as security is concerned.
http://www.ispconfig.org/
I have noted that anything that is not a centos package is probably
suspect, -so feel free to assure, or warn, at your leisure.
Basically we are looking for a secure GUI based DNS admin tool, (I myself
prefer an openbsd or centos dns machine and tyo

Network issue after new kernel install
Hello CentOS list,
On all of my CentOS 5 VMWare ESX3 virtual machines (about 15), after
installing a new kernel and rebooting the machine, the Network script
tries to run dhclient and can't determine the IP info (since I don't run
a dhcpd server... it's a static IP only lan). This also backs up my
ifcfg-eth0 file to ifcfg-eth0.bak and writes a new ifcfg-eth0 that has
dhcpd with

Re: pv_ops kernel and network problems (checksumoffloading?)
Hi,
I found this mail about network problems in the archive.
I think I have the same network problems with a routing (with or without
NAT) domU connected by two network bridges.
The dom0 logs thousands of following messages:
--
Attempting to checksum a non-TCP/UDP packet, dropping a protocol 1 packet
--
and all outgoing TCP packets have wrong TCP checksums (traced on another
machine on the

Latest kernel seems to have found my second NIC
I just yum-installed the 2.6.9-34 kernel RPMs and rebooted, and lo and
behold, my other onboard NIC is now detected, after a fashion.
/etc/sysconfig/hwconf now has entries for:
device: eth0
driver: forcedeth
desc: "nVidia Corporation CK804 Ethernet Controller"
device: eth2
driver: sky2
desc: "Marvell Technology Group Ltd. 88E8053 Gigabit Ethernet Controller"

7.0 - slow/unstable Internet access via Linux router
Hello,
recently I've installed 7.0 and now I'm observing strange thing with my Internet connection.
Access to some sites may be VERY slow or doesn't work at all with different kinds of timeout
messages or without messages at all (but other sites works fine). For example, firefox may say

2.6.30.1 dom0 Xen patches
I''ve been trying for several days to get a xen dom0 booting as
described on Boris Derzhavets blog.
I have been able to boot Jeremy Fitzhardinge''s pv_ops kernel under
xen, but my X server wouldn''t start so I''ve been trying to get Andrew
Lyon''s rebased opensuse patches to work.
I have asked for help in the freenode ##xen channel but they

Network config module won't work. -Mac address errors
Hello,
I created a module for modifying the base network settings on a
machine. However no matter what changes I make it keeps giving me the
error "has different MAC address than expected, ignoring" when the
network tries to startup.
I am testing this out on the puppet learning VM.
Does anyone see anything wrong with my code:

How to set up real network cards?
I have a hardware here with 9 NICs (8 of them on-board)
and I want to set up 8 NICs as real network interfaces,
one for each xen domain. The 9th NIC should be Domain-0
which is working well. Currently I have only set up
one domain which is running in bridged mode at the moment.
I am currently trying to set up a second domain which
uses eth2 but I didn''t succeed. I want to get the

[SPAM] Xen bridge network issue
Hi,
I have taken the long and winding road and indeed it lead me to your door. I
need your help, please.
My Xen includes 2 guests. Xen itself (10.2.0.52) gets free access to the
outside world and to its guests.
Both guests however (10.2.0.54/10.2.0.55) see each other but stay under
house arrest!
Not a single ping manages to go past the bridge (xenbr0) and get an answer
from the default gateway

Detecting second network interface
Me again.
The ASUS P5N32-SLI motherboard in my new machine has dual NICs but
CentOS has only detected one of them. I've tried rebooting with the
network plugged in only to the second one, but kudzu still doesn't
find it.
Any suggestions?
