Can't install CentOS 7 on SuperMicro X7DB3 with Adaptec AIC-9410 Controller
I have a server with Super Micro X7DB3 motherboard and Adaptech AIC-9410 controller (http://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/Xeon1333/5000P/X7DB3.cfm). The hard disk is single SeaGate SAS disk (300Gb). I'd like to install CentOS 7 on the server, but unfortunately, the CentOS installer can't find any hard disk. I think the problem maybe caused by the disk controller. Can you please

Adaptec AIC-9410
Hello, I just recently purchased two new Supermicro servers: SYS-6025B-3R SYS-6015B-3R Both of these have an Adaptec AIC-9410 SAS controller in them, that is apparently not detected (or supported?) by FreeBSD (amd64) (7.0 or 7.1 RC1) Is there any way to get FreeBSD to detect this controller (and drives on it)? I found some conversations from 2006 about this, but no updates since. Thanks in

Adaptec 39320A woes
I'm having speed problems with the SCSI card we're using to do tape backup. It seems to be functioning in 16 bit mode and the current thinking is that perhaps it's using a legacy driver instead of the correct one. The Adaptec site has a 'driver' for RHEL5 which I've downloaded and tried to install but it seems to have a problem installing on a CentOS-5 system. [root at

Adaptec Host Raid
Hi All, I need to install CentOS 4.0 x86_64 using Adaptec ASC-29320A with HostRAID enabled, but it seems my card isn't recognized. I've tried to install the hardware using driver downloaded for RHEL 4.0 from the Adaptec Website, but still it's unrecognized. P.S. I'm able to install RedHat 9.0 using this card before. Is there anyone have any solution for this? Thanks and

Centos 4 and Supermicro ICH7R
Hi: I've tried to install centos 4.3 in a raid array, setuped on bios as mode "Adaptec". The chip is ICH7R but centos always sees 2 drives instead of the array that I create. I've contacted Supermicro support and they gave me this link ftp://ftp.supermicro.com/driver/SATA/Adaptec_ICH7R/Linux/Redhat/ , but the disk drivers I tried to use with centos 4.3 did not work, saying that

AIC7901 RAID320 with CENTOS4 not recognized
An INTEL Server motherboard model SE7501BR2 with an onboard Adaptec AIC7901 controller (with HostRAID) is not being recognized by CENTOS 4. The AIC79xx driver loads correctly, however it does not "see" the fact that I used the HostRAID onboard software to create a RAID 1 set. I went to the INTEL site and only found a driver for RHEL 3.0 and I was unable to find a driver on the adaptec

Samba backup and restore with LDAP
Hi I have a problem with a production server (Acer Altos G5350) SLE9 SP3 with Samba 3.0.20b-3.4). It provides shares for about 15 Windows workstations. I purchased it with an Adaptec Hostraid a320 controller (using two 146mb Seatgate drives mirrored with Hostraid) but slowly realising that getting up tod ate kernel supported drivers for these cards is near impossible. When I installed SLE9 it

Max filesystem size for ext3 using Adaptec RAID 5 on 64 bit CentOS
We are strategizing a set of backup servers and I have been trying to deduce wha the maximum size of each RAID 5 array should be to match the OS we are using. We are currently running CentOS 4.3 64 bit. We have planned a 2 TB RAID 5 array for testing but we will need to set up several larger ones for production. I have poked around and I see people mention limits like 2TB max file size and 32TB

problem with unix extensions on Adaptec SNAP Server (Redhat 8)
I've recently purchased an Adaptec SNAP server to serve as a central file server for a 2500 machine, 7000 user network. My goal is for this server to serve as a backend file store to a number of other servers that the client machines will communicate with. In particular, I would like to have my current file server (which runs samba 3.0.10 in kernel 2.6.10-gentoo-r6) mount a share on the
