Exim VS Postfix (no flame wars please)
Can anyone, who has used both Postfix & Exim please share some experience
with me? Which of these 2 did you prefer to use, and why?
cPanel uses Exim (and AFAIK, only Exim), VirtualMin seems to use Postfix by
default and often times when a custom server is installed a client doesn't
know which to use so we recommend Exim. But, what are the differences
between these 2, from your experience,

hi all,
per the exim docs @:
http://exim.org/exim-html-4.62/doc/html/spec_html/ch36.html
a cyrus_sasl authenticator driveer is 'included' in exim core.
given that Dovecot has become a very attractive alternative for an
increasing number of folks, and there's a patch against exim 4.43 here:

%d in deliver
Hi there,
I run a system that has a lot of virtual users. We invoke deliver from
exim and pass the directory to deliver into using the HOME environment
variable, so deliver doesn't do any database lookups during the delivery
process. The exim pipe environment is described at
http://exim.org/exim-html-current/doc/html/spec_html/index.html#toc0239,
but basically I'd like to know the domain

oVirt on CentOS 5.3?
Hi,
Has anyone been succesful in installing oVirt on CentOS 5.3? While it looks
like a greate virtualization package, they only support FC10, and the
installation instructions are for FC9.
So, has anyone installed it on CentOS yet? If so, would you mind sharing
with me whether it was a problematic installation, or not really?

here the steps I have done to integrate Dovecot submission in Exim:
- Create and set the acl_smtp_mailauth ACL:
acl_smtp_mailauth = acl_check_mailauth

OT: looking for a rsync equivalent for Windows platforms
Hi all,
Does anyone know of a good & free rsync type program for Windows
platforms? Like most of us, I need to work on both Windows & Linux
environments, and would like to sync some data (music, videos, photos,
documents, thunderbird profiles, FF bookmarks, etc) between a USB HDD,
my Linux (CentOS + KDE) PC, and Windows Laptop at the office.
I found a program called Toucan (which also

Is parralel processing automatically done on multi-core CPU's?
Hi,
I just noticed this article,
http://www.howtoforge.net/fully-utilizing-your-x-core-cpu which uses
http://code.google.com/p/ppss/ for parralel processing.
So, can anyone tell me if parralel processing happens automatically on
CentOS, or would I need to use this script as well? We mainly have Dual Core
& Dual CPU, Dual Core (i.e. 8 cores) servers and it would be benefitial to
know whether

is it possible to resive /var online?
Hi all,
Is it possible, safely, to resize /var while a server is running? I urgently
need to resize a full 2GB /var on a running server which is located at a
remote location where no one can get to it for 2 days?
The system runs on lvm.
I already moved /var/logs to it's own LVM partition but it didn't help at
all so I think it's better to rather just resize it. Google searches

everything seems to hang, but system is idle?
Hi All,
My one server recently started acting very weird. At fist I couldn't
import any images with cobbler as rsync crashes the whole time. I was
told to ask on the cobbler list (maybe it's not supported here?) but I
left it at that (subscribed to far too many lists already).
Yesteday I wanted to copy some stuff from a USB disk to the server

how to optimize CentOS XEN dom0?
Hi,
I have a problematic CentOS XEN server and hope someone could point me
in the right direction to optimize it a bit.
The server runs on a Core2Quad 9300, with 8GB RAM (max motherboard can
take, 1U chassis) on an Intel motherboard with a 1TB SATA HDD.
dom0 is set to 512MB limit with a few small XEM VM's running:
