My home network doesn't have any wireless access points (to slow) and I was iSCSI booting my wkst for a while:) Now I need to setup a printer so I was going to get an HP Photosmart C4580. The HPLIP page shows no network support:( I _was_ going to use a USB wireless nic I have and setup an ad-hoc to print to this thing. Anyone know anything that might make this work? Thanks! jlc

Trouble setting up HP Officejet Pro 8600 printer on CentOS 7 + KDE
Hi Niki don't you need a hplip addon/plugin, which you can fetch from http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/install/index.html There, with the wizard, you get a file hplip-3.x.x.run which you download and run using bash hplip-3.x.x.run This will install the addon/plugin. suomi On 11/11/2016 08:49 AM, Nicolas Kovacs wrote: > Hi, > > I just installed a CentOS 7 + KDE desktop

Why go through all this trouble when you can connect the printer to the network directly and be done with it? -- Sent from the Delta quadrant using Borg technology! HP OfficeJet Printing
There has been a bit of grumbling recently about HP printer capability in one of our smallest prototyping Labs.? We have a single GigE switch connecting a Windows 7 machine and a Dell/CentOS-6 machine.? The CentOS machine also has connectivity via another network.? Currently, only the Windows 7 machine has been setup for printing on our HP OfficeJet 8615. Our Samba effort on the CentOS system has

Recent HPLIP: where's that doc?
Hi, The HPLIP package included in CentOS 5 is one of those packages that lags almost pathologically behind. Now I remember having seen some *official* (HP) documentation describing the procedure to follow to install the *latest* HPLIP on CentOS 5. As far as I can remember, there were even some RHEL5 RPMS on that site. But I can't seem to find that page anymore. Anyone remembers it? Niki

Trouble setting up HP Officejet Pro 8600 printer on CentOS 7 + KDE
Hi, I just installed a CentOS 7 + KDE desktop in my office's network. So far, I'm quite happy with the results, though I have some trouble getting the printer to work. All the other machines in my office (server, desktops, workstation) are running Slackware64 14.1 or 14.2, and they can all use the printer perfectly. I installed hplip-gui and ran it. The printer is a network printer, it

Is anyone successfully using hplip under CentOS? When I try to print on my HP Officejet J4580 I always get the error ---------------------------------- Printer Filter "foomatic-rip-hplip" for printer "oj" not available: No such file or directory ---------------------------------- What I find puzzling is that I have googled for this, and it appears there has been the same

what requires lm_sensors?
I found that lm_sensors got installed because of a dependency on my first Xen VM that I updated to 5.3. lm_sensors doesn't make sense in a VM. I thought, ok let's check after the update who wants it. However: rpm -q --whatrequires lm_sensors no package requires lm_sensors (same for --triggeredby with lm_sensors or the packages below) Trying to remove lm_sensors reveals these packages:

HPLIP
First, has anyone successfully installed the HPLIP driver from HP in CentOS4? Second, does that driver really provide the toolbox which includes handy stuff like ink level monitoring? I got the source RPM (hplip-0.9.4-1.1.src.rpm) from an FC4 testing mirror, which rebuilt fine on this machine: . . . + umask 022 + cd /home/rj/rpmbuild/BUILD + cd

Hi Folks, the reason: new printer HP LaserJet Pro M1132 MFP This printer needs a non-free plugin. On my 64-bit machine with CentOS 5.5 the installation via hplip-3.11.1.run and hplip-3.11.1.plugin.run works perfectly (except scanning - but that's not the problem at the moment). On my second machine - CentOS 5 32-bit I have many problems and printing doesn't works. 1. Installation

HP L7780 support in hplip 1.6.7???
Alle, I have an HP L7780 MFP, which is supported under hplip 1.7.2 but not the current install of 1.6.7. Does anyone know of a way just to add that particular driver to 1.6.7, or will it require removing the standard 1.6.7 and doing a custom install of 1.7.2. If the latter, what would you consider the dangers/other implications of going "rogue"? Best Regards, Camron -- Camron W.
