Hi all, I need to launch X-Windows at runlevel 4 and 5. CentOS only start up x-windows at runlevel by default. I have modified /etc/inittab to accomplish this: x:4:respawn:/etc/X11/prefdm -nodaemon x:5:respawn:/etc/X11/prefdm -nodaemon But this returns errors every time that start and stop system ... Which is the correct form to launch x-windows under centos at different runlevels?? Many

Hi all, I installed a paravirt CentOS 5.4 domU on a CentOS 5.4 dom0 environment. I compiled the domU kernel with framebuff console. But I couldn’t using VNC to connect to the domU console. Hello, what is the right way to disable XFree86 and wdm listening ports tcp 6000 and tcp 1024. I read in man XFree86 about the -nolisten tcp option and tried to set in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xdm :0 local /usr/X11R6/bin/X -nolisten tcp but it was not successful. I have had Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0.1 installed on my CentOS 4.2 desktop and it worked fine. After upgrading to 4.3, I can't get it to come up anymore. I downloaded Acrobat Reader 7.0.5 and it does the same. I have some customer machines that have not been updated for some time, and are still on CentOS 5.2. While reading the release notes for 5.4, I have not yet seen anything that looks like it needs attention, but are there any known issues or "gotchas" related to moving directly from 5.2 to 5.4? I've got an odd problem. My server will not shutdown normally because the AoE driver is not being shut down properly.
