Problems with rpmforge repo?
Hello,
Tried yum update all yesterday and today and seems there is a perl
dependency missing. Does anyone know if it is a problem or just a sync
thing and that I should be more patient. Error is below:

package: perl-IO-Compress
--> Finished Dependency Resolution

Not respected repo priorities...
Ah ah, the demo effect... just after I said I did not have much issues with repos... ^_^
A collegue installed some packages (for perconna) and since then a server insists on replacing 2 base packages with 2 rfx packages, even when I gave a lower priority to rfx...

Subversion server: v1.4 (centos) vs. v1.6 (rpmforge)
Hi,
I'm planning to upgrade an old public/internal development
infrastructure and will use CentOS 5.4 x86_64 as basis.
One of the critical server is Subversion (as an Apache httpd module).
We currently use Subversion v1.4 on the server and v1.6 on our clients.
While I was very happy with the v1.4 server over the years, we now
sometimes have weird issues which seem related to compatibility

"yum -yq --security check-update" spouting lots of text?

I thought -q meant 'no output'. Recently yum -q has started spewing the
following garbage, can anyone tell me why?

perl-Nagios-Plugin-0.35-1.el5.rf.noarch from rpmforge: dependency problem
Hi folks,
I hope this is the right mailing list to ask since on the repoforge
website there is no list or contact information.
I have a problem with updating the perl-Nagios-Plugin package. I have
installed perl-Nagios-Plugin-0.33-1.el6.rf.noarch, and running yum
update leads to:

miro from rpmforge appears to have dep solving issues
Hi folks,
Anyone know the whereabouts of libgtkembedmoz.so()(64bit) as it is
needed by miro-1.0-1.el5.rf.x86_64 (rpmforge)
I tried a whatprovides and have looked at epel as well as rpmforge - no
luck.
While I'm asking, I'm looking for an internet HD TV viewer - miro looked
interesting - any other products you know of?
TIA
Rob

rpmforge vs epel
I've been informed that rpmforge and epel do
not play well together and that if I use both,
epel should have the higher (lower numbered) priority.
Alas I had it the other way around.
rpmforge messed up my effort to get audacity.
I no longer need audacity,
but would like to fix the situation before some other problem crops up.
Would fixing the priorities and telling yum to

yum update installed xen and pae kernels
Why???
I was/am running kernel 2.6.18-128.1.6.el5
I did a yum update and watched 2.6.18-128.1.6.el5xen and
2.6.18-128.1.6.el5PAE being installed, with PAE listed first in my

I also see:
