Conflicting perl packages?
The simple ordinary yum update of CentOS 5.3 spits a bunch of
transaction check errors regarding packages

perl-IO-Compress-2.020-1.el5.rf.noarch which is supposed to replace

Problems with rpmforge repo?
Hello,
Tried yum update all yesterday and today and seems there is a perl
dependency missing. Does anyone know if it is a problem or just a sync
thing and that I should be more patient. Error is below:

package: perl-IO-Compress

rpmforge.repo
How come rpmforge.repo wants to install a whole slew of perl modules,
yet if I leave rpmforge.repo out of the update process, none of the perl
modules shows up? Here's the rpmforge.repo file.. do any of yall see
anything wrong with anything in there?

Today's log - yum entries
Hi list,
I have the following entries, below, in today's log file (for yesterday,
10th May).
I don't run the automated yum-updated and didn't run a yum update
yesterday, and no packages were installed. Obviously the entries are old.
I was wondering if anyone could offer an explanation?
Thanks,
Ned

Ah ah, the demo effect... just after I said I did not have much issues with repos... ^_^
A collegue installed some packages (for perconna) and since then a server insists on replacing 2 base packages with 2 rfx packages, even when I gave a lower priority to rfx...

PERL module woes
Hi,
I'm using CentOS 4.3 on all my PC's, and I'm very happy with it.
Everything *just* works.
I want to give DVD::RIP 0.97.10 a try. I enabled rpmforge and kbs repos,
but there's only 0.52.2 available, which has an annoying bug in it. So I
installed the main dependency, transcode, via yum. Then I downloaded the
(PERL) sources of DVD::RIP 0.97.10, ran configure (e. g. perl

RPM perl requirements woes
Dear CentOS hive mind,
I'm trying to package up a perl module into an RPM for easy deployment.
I want it to be as self-contained as possible (to avoid version issues
with perl modules in base or EPEL). So in my spec file, I'm doing:
curl -L http://cpanmin.us | perl - App::cpanminus -L
%{buildroot}/opt/zonemaster Zonemaster
This way, cpanminus is installed first, and then it goes on to
