yum priorities and rpmforge...
Hi, I am using the yum priorities plugin and, for some reason, it is blocking all rpmforge updates, even for already installed rpmforge packages... I have priority=1 for CentOS repos. Is it the 'normal' behavior or is something wrong in my conf? Thx, JD

Multiple windows shell multiplexer...
Hi, I am currently using keyboardcast but I had to modify the sources to make it behave "properly" (light, auto-placed, auto-tiled windows, etc) and... I lost my modifications and do not want to recode it once more... :/ I wanted to use mssh (not the python one, the one from Bradley Smith) but I cannot find an rpm and cannot compile it on CentOS 5 due to a too old vte-devel library

Ping and traceroute...
Hi everybody, Right now, we are blocking pings and traceroutes to our website. But, in order for our members to test the connection when they are experiencing slow browsing, we are thinking about unblocking them... Are there still any security issues (flooding, etc...) in enabling them or is that an old problem fixed a long time ago? Thanks, JD

Is glusterfs ready?
Hey, since RH took control of glusterfs, I've been looking to convert our old independent RAID storage servers to several non RAID glustered ones. The thing is that I, here and there, heard a few frightening stories from some users (even with latest release). Any one has experienced with it long enough to think one can blindly trust it or if it is almost there but not yet ready? Thx, JD

Stripe vs Cylinder alignement...
Hi, I modified my kickstart to do some custom partioning and formating in a pre-install script. I am trying to align the partitions on the RAID stripe (and format with a correct stride). But, sfdisk complains that it does not start/end on a cylinder boundary (used -L option to limit complaining). Since the cylinder size is not a multiple of the stripe size, I cannot align on both. I tried to

Currently I have autoconf (GNU Autoconf) 2.59 automake (GNU automake) 1.9.6 I need autoconf 2.69-1 and automake 1.11.6. Thanks, John -- John J. More than 2TB RAID...
Hi, I just received a new server (HP DL180G5) with 12x 1TB HDs and I bumped into fdisks 2TB limits... Since this is an entry level server, I can't use the classic HP bootable utilities to create smaller volumes et can only create a big RAID6. I found out that: using parted, labelling it gpt and creating the partitions would do the trick. But, what about grub? I read that it does not support

Any experience with lanner appliances?
Hi, anybody has installed CentOS on an lanner appliance...? Eg. http://www.lannerinc.com/products/all-purpose-box-computers/industrial-automation/lec-2126 I was planning to buy an hp microserver to make a "small" CentOS firewall (and more since it is overpowered), but I am wondering if I could go for a lot smaller and with no fan/noise... but at the same time a bit more expensive...

2.2.4 + metadata plugin: autoconf failed
Hello, I can compile metadata plugin using debian squeeze + wheezy. But build on suse enterprise server 9,10 and 11 failed. The metadata plugin require autoconf-2.65 which i too new. On the other side I can build the dovecot-2.2.4 and pigeonhole-0.4.0 plugin without problems: dovecot require autoconf-2.59 and pigeonhole does not require any specific autoconf version. [LLVMdev] Question of autotools about adding a new target for LLVM
Hello all, I am a beginner of LLVM and want to add a new Target for LLVM. I follow the document (http://llvm.org/docs/WritingAnLLVMBackend.html) to modify autotools/configure.ac. However when I type ./AutoRegen.sh There is an error that "Your autoconf was not detected as being 2.60" I download the source of autoconf 2.60 and install it. And there is the other error that "Your

Freezing gnome terminals...
Hi, just wondering if you also experience gnome terminals freezing after a while...? It mainly happens over the week-end. I would leave a terminal open (with an ssh session to a remote site), come back on monday and type a few commands and it jwould just freeze. But it also happen from time to time randomly during the day (but still with days old terminals). Happens to my collegues too. The
